Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a suture anchor inserter. The suture anchor inserter includes a handle having a proximal component, a central component coupled to the proximal component, and a distal component coupled to the proximal component and the central component, the central component capable of rotating relative to the proximal component; and a shaft comprising a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end coupled to the handle. A method of inserting a suture anchor into bone is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A technique to gather and assess the quality of a location based services provided to a mobile wireless device via a wireless network includes providing location-based service information by referring to a target location of a requested item of interest within a proximity of the present location of the mobile wireless device. Subjective quality or accuracy information can be submitted to the wireless network from the from the wireless device. The subjective quality or accuracy information is correlated with event and condition information affecting the wireless network. Reports can be generated which indicate the quality and accuracy information of the target location information. The reports are useful for troubleshooting location-based service inaccuracy.
Abstract:
An eye safety mechanism for use with a bi-directional data cable having an electrical interface at at least one (but potentially both) ends, despite the fact that the cable communicates over much of its length using a bi-directional optical channel. Upon power-up, the eye safety mechanism determines whether or not a loss of signal condition is present on an optical receive channel of the bi-directional data cable. If the loss of signal is present, the mechanism intermittently disables the optical transmit channel of the bi-directional data cable. On the other hand, if the loss of signal is not present, the mechanism enables the optical transmit channel of the bi-directional data cable without intermittently disabling transmission at least for most of the time until the next time a loss of signal is detected on the optical receive channel.
Abstract:
A system and method for prioritizing a fetch order of web pages. The method comprises extracting by a web crawler a set of candidate web pages to be crawled. Each web page in the set of candidate web pages is associated with a website in a computer network. A determination is made to determine if a first website score for the website is in a website score database. The first website score is associated with web pages in the set of candidate web pages if the first website score exists in the website score database. The set of candidate web pages is prioritized with respect to an associated website score for each web page in the candidate set of web pages. Content is retrieved from the set of candidate web. Hyperlinks are extracted from the content. The hyperlinks are stored in a memory unit.
Abstract:
The present invention provides polymeric compositions that can be used to modify charge transport across a nanocrystal surface or within a nanocrystal-containing matrix, as well as methods for making and using the novel compositions.
Abstract:
Devices, compositions and methods for producing photoactive devices, systems and compositions that have improved conversion efficiencies relative to previously described devices, systems and compositions. This improved efficiency is generally obtained by one or both of improving the efficiency of light absorption into the photoactive component, and improving the efficiency of energy extraction from that active component.
Abstract:
A receiving unit 28 includes a tuner circuit board 100 that receives a first signal that may include a satellite signal. The tuner circuit board 100 demodulates the satellite signal to form a second signal. The second signal is provided to an internet protocol (IP) and control module circuit board 102 that is separated from the tuner circuit board 100. The internet protocol (IP) and control module circuit board 102 formats the second signal to form an IP encapsulated signal. The IP encapsulated signal is communicated to a device 44 so that a display 46 may be generated.
Abstract:
A method of traumatizing a pair of adjacent vertebral endplates may provide a surgical instrument having a pivoting distal removable insert, a proximal handle portion, a body portion, and a linkage member positioned between the insert and the proximal handle portion, the insert having a first angular position relative to the body. A leading end of the insert may be placed in a first position between two adjacent vertebral endplates and moved to a second position between the adjacent vertebral endplates by impacting the proximal end portion of the surgical instrument. The insert may be pivoted to a second angular position relative to the body portion by rotating the handle about the body portion and may lock the second angular position of the distal insert. The insert may be moved to a third position between the adjacent vertebral endplates by impacting the proximal end portion of the surgical instrument.
Abstract:
A surgical instrument for posterior or lateral placement of a rasp/trial member between adjacent vertebrae comprising a first vertebrae and a second vertebrae may have an elongated member having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion and an articulation member slidingly coupled to the elongated member. A link member having a distal end portion and a proximal end portion may be pivotably coupled at the proximal end portion of the link member to a distal end portion of the articulation member. A rasp/trial member, pivotably coupled to the distal end portion of the elongated member may be pivotably coupled to the distal end portion of the link member. The rasp/trial member may include at least one surface for traumatizing tissue. An actuating mechanism coupled to the proximal end portions of elongated member and articulation member may be configured to move the articulation member relative to the elongated member.
Abstract:
An active cable that is configured to communicate over much of its length using one or more optical fibers, and that includes an integrated electrical connector at at least one end. The active cable includes a power transmission spanning the length of the optical fiber(s). Thus, electrical power from one end of the optical cable may be provided to an opposite side of the optical cable. The cable may be an electrical to optical cable, and electrical to electrical cable, or one of many other potential configurations.
