摘要: A desolidification process enables the isolation and extraction of solid additives from an unreacted petroleum residue stream. In a hydrocracking process that mixes a solid additive with a petroleum residue feedstock to convert the petroleum residue to higher-value distillates, the desolidification process enables the recovery of the unreacted petroleum residue for conversion to a saleable product. The desolidification process involves the mixture of one or more solvents with a slurry in which solids are integrated in the petroleum residue to generate a mixture having a decreased density and viscosity as compared to the slurry, which facilitates removal of the solids.

摘要: A first stream containing 1,3-butadiene, C4 acetylenes, and optionally C3 hydrocarbons, is mixed with a portion of the liquid recycle stream from a C4 acetylene hydrogenation reactor containing hydrogenated C4 acetylenes and a molecular hydrogen-containing stream, the resulting mixed stream is then fed to a C4 acetylene hydrogenation reactor to selectively hydrogenate the C4 acetylenes in the crude butadiene stream without appreciable 1,3-butadiene conversion.

摘要: A method for testing a body having a feature and an outer surface includes configuring a probe to emit a focused ultrasonic beam; configuring a control unit to control the probe, adjusting a focal distance of a focal point of the beam with reference to a test location; adjusting a position of the focal point along at least one axis with reference to the feature; emitting the beam into the outer surface; and determining a presence of a crack at the test location by evaluating % a signal response from the probe. A related apparatus includes the control unit, the transducer, and a shoe assembly having a shoe member and a shoe adapter. A coupling fluid in a variable volume chamber in the shoe adapter separates the transducer from the shoe member and allows changes in a focal distance of the focal point. The apparatus also includes one or more positioners for adjusting a position of the focal point.

摘要: Systems and methods for producing ammonia. The system can include a first ammonia converter, a second ammonia converter, a product separator, and an ammonia recovery unit. The first ammonia converter can be adapted to react a syngas to produce a first ammonia product and a first purge gas. The second ammonia converter can be in fluid communication with the first ammonia converter and can be adapted to react the first purge gas to produce an effluent. The product separator can be in fluid communication with the second ammonia converter and can be adapted to separate the effluent to produce a second ammonia product and a second purge gas. The ammonia recovery unit can be in fluid communication with the product separator and can be adapted to separate at least a portion of the second purge gas to produce a third ammonia product and a third purge gas.
