摘要: A wet coating composition useful for coating a cellulosic fiber-based substrate is provided. The composition includes two aqueous emulsions. The first emulsion includes an oxidized paraffin/polyethylene wax and the second emulsion includes an ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer wax, ethylene/acrylic amide copolymer wax, ethylene/acrylic acid/acrylic amide copolymer wax or a mixture thereof. The oxidized paraffin/polyethylene wax has a surface energy less than or equal to 25 mN/m being substantially dispersive energy. The wet coating composition when dried forms a coating having a surface energy ranging from 20 to 60 mN/m being the sum of dispersive and polar energies. A process for treating a cellulosic fiber-based substrate with the wet coating composition, a substrate coated and articles including the coated substrate are also described. The process involves a heating step to allow migration of the coating towards a core of the cellulosic fiber-based substrate.

摘要: A coated paper-based substrate for manufacturing a container and a method for preparing the same. The coated paper-based substrate comprises a cellulosic fiber-based substrate coated on a first surface with a coating A and coated on a second surface with a coating B. The coating A comprises at least one layer of an extruded or laminated polymeric film or of a laminated foil. The coating B comprises at least one layer obtained by applying an aqueous dispersion of at least one polymer or copolymer capable of providing a water and/or moisture barrier to the second surface of the paper-based substrate once coated. The extruded or laminated polymeric film and the polymer or copolymer of the aqueous dispersion are different. The coating A and the coating B are heat sealable to each other.

摘要: A heat sealable paper-based substrate is provided with at least the first surface covered with at least one primer coat and at least one topcoat over the primer coat, wherein: the primer coat is formed from a substantially wax-free aqueous dispersion of at least one polymer or copolymer, has a coefficient of thermal expansion equal to or less than about 200 μm/(m·° C.) for at least one operating temperature, and has a complex viscosity of at least about 80000 poises at a heat seal temperature; the topcoat has a different composition than the primer coat and is formed from an aqueous dispersion of at least one thermoplastic polymer or copolymer, and has a complex viscosity of at least about 3000 poises at a heat seal temperature. The heat sealable paper-based substrate can be used to make articles to contain goods such as cold or hot beverages or food products.

The coated paper-based substrate comprises a cellulosic fiber-based substrate coated on a first surface with a coating A and coated on a second surface with a coating B. 摘要: A foldable paper-based substrate coated with primer coat and top coat. Primer coat includes a wax-free aqueous dispersion wherein a dry film thereof has a flexibility of at least 1100% for a film thickness from about 1.0 to about 2.5 mm. Top coat is blocking resistant and includes an aqueous dispersion of a polymer providing water resistance, grease or oil resistance, heat resistance, odor barrier, moisture barrier and/or heat sealability to the paper-based product. The top coat aqueous dispersion is characterized in that a dry film thereof has a flexibility of at least 570% for a film thickness from about 1.5 to about 2.5 mm. A process for preparing the coated foldable paper-based substrate includes applying the primer coat to the surface of the paper-based substrate, applying the top coat and drying the coats. The primer coat may be dried before application of the top coat.
