    摘要: Provided is a process for making a diphenylamine-functionalized poly-α-olefin. The process has the following step: reacting an amount of a poly-α-olefin having a terminal double bond with a diphenylamine in the presence of a catalyst. The poly-α-olefin has a terminal double bond having a number average molecular weight of 120 to 600. The ratio of poly-α-olefin to diphenylamine is 1.0:1.0 to 10.0:1.0. Provided is also a diphenylamine-functionalized poly-α-olefin product.

    摘要: Provided are selected types of terpolymer components comprising terpolymers having monomer units derived from ethylene (E), dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) and norbornene-based (NB) co-monomers. Such terpolymer components have certain specified amounts of each co-monomer as well as certain specified molecular weight and glass transition temperature characteristics. Terpolymer components which are derivatized by hydrogenation and/or by epoxidation and/or hydroxylation are also disclosed, as well as thermoplastic polyolefin compositions which contain the terpolymer components and which have especially desirable structural and thermal properties.Also provided are processes for preparing and derivatizing the terpolymer components herein. Such preparation processes comprise: a) contacting ethylene with a polymerization mixture comprising selected amounts of both DCPD and NB co-monomers, in the presence of a selected activated cyclopentadienyl-fluorenyl metallocene catalyst under specific polymerization conditions to thereby form the desired ethylene-dicyclopentadiene-norbornene terpolymer components within the polymerization mixture. These terpolymer components can then be subsequently derivatized by hydrogenation or functionalization of the residual double bonds therein.

    摘要: The invention is related to an olefin-carbon monoxide-vinyl monomer terpolymer composition which is derived from an olefin feed and a synthesis gas feed and at least one vinyl monomer feed. The invention is also related to a method for preparing olefin-carbon monoxide-vinyl monomer terpolymers by heating an olefin feed, a synthesis gas feed and at least one vinyl monomer feed in the presence of a free radical polymerization initiator. More particularly, the synthesis gas feed comprises predominantly carbon monoxide and hydrogen. The terpolymers of the invention are useful as polyvinyl chloride plasticizers.

    摘要: Oleaginous compositions, particularly lubricating oil compositions, exhibiting improved antioxidant properties containing a viscosity index improving amount of a viscosity index improver-dispersant comprised of the reaction products of: (a) an oil soluble ethylene copolymer comprising from about 15 to 90 wt. % ethylene and from about 10 to 85 wt. % of at least one C.sub.3 to C.sub.28 alpha-olefin, having a number average molecular weight of from about 20,000 to 500,000, grafted with an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid material having 1 or 2 acid or anhydride moieties; (b) an organic polyamine having at least two primary amino groups; (c) an aldehyde; (d) a hydroxy aromatic reactant having at least one --OH-- group attached to the aromatic ring; and, optionally, (e) an amount effective to provide a V.I. improver-dispersant exhibiting improved low temperature viscometric properties of high functionality long chain hydrocarbyl substituted dicarboxylic acid material having a functionality of at least 1.3.
