Abstract: An oil cooling structure of an engine is provided that is capable of enhancing cooling performance of oil while preventing an increase in number of components or an increase in required space from being involved as much as possible. In an oil cooling structure of an engine in which a transmission case is attached to one end wall of an engine body, and a transmission mechanism for an accessory drive is provided in the transmission case, the transmission case is formed into a potlid-shaped body having a plurality of rib walls along a front-rear direction, and is attached to an engine front wall with an engine cooling fan, and case inner chamber portions partitioned by the rib walls in the transmission case are configured as a transporting passage of oil circulated by an oil pump.

Abstract: There are provided a synthetic resin joined body and a method of manufacturing the same, with which it is possible to secure both of sealing performance of a fluid passage and joint strength between synthetic resin parts, even if an area of a portion to be welded is reduced. The synthetic resin joined body includes: a baffle plate; an oil passage forming member which comes in contact with the baffle plate; an oil passage which is formed between the baffle plate and the oil passage forming member and through which lubricant flows; a sealing portion which is formed by welding the baffle plate and the oil passage forming member to each other on an outer side of the oil passage to seal a periphery of the oil passage; and a joint portion for joining the baffle plate and the oil passage forming member to each other.

Abstract: An engine block, an engine sub-assembly, and method for providing and manufacturing an engine block. The engine block includes a plurality of cylinder barrels positioned in the engine block, at least one oil jacket channel formed in the engine block, and an oil inlet port positioned in a peripheral wall of the engine block and connected to the at least one oil jacket channel. The at least one oil jacket channel includes a plurality of curved channel sections. Each curved channel section in the plurality of curved channel sections extends about at least a portion of a circumferential portion of a respective cylinder barrel in the plurality of cylinder barrels. The at least one oil jacket channel extends between adjacent cylinder barrels of the plurality of cylinder barrels in the engine block.

Abstract: A cam follower assembly is provided including an improved lubricant flowpath. The assembly includes a generally cylindrical housing including an annular groove adapted to be in communication with a lubricant gallery in an engine block or cylinder head. An axial end of the housing includes skirt portions including openings, and one of the skirt portions includes a first recessed section indented from an outer lateral surface of the housing and extending axially between the annular groove and a respective one of the openings. A pin is mounted in the openings of the skirt portions and has a second recessed section indented from an outer lateral surface of the pin that extends to at least one of the ends of the pin. The second recessed section is in communication with the first recessed section, and a cam roller supported on the pin.

Abstract: An oil sump is mounted on an assembly formed by a crankcase and a flywheel housing of an internal combustion engine. The flywheel housing has a first parting plane to the crankcase and to the oil sump. In mounted state, the joint faces of the flywheel housing, the crankcase, and the oil sump lie on each other. The crankcase has a second parting plane to the oil sump. In mounted state the joint faces of the crankcase and the oil sump lie on each other. At least one guide is provided between the flywheel housing and the oil sump, the guide orienting at least the joint faces of the oil sump and the crankcase relative to each other during connection of the oil sump to the assembly formed by the crankcase and flywheel housing, such that on creation of the abutment connection between the oil sump and the crankcase, these joint faces are oriented substantially planar parallel.

Abstract: A lubricant assembly that is configured as part of a lubricating system that flings, or slings, fluid lubricants about the interior of compressors. In one embodiment, the lubricant assembly includes a lubricant guide member with a body member that has a pair of peripheral side members with angled surfaces. The construction is amenable to more consistent fabrication constraints (e.g., tolerances), as well as to offer features that can improve operation of the lubricating system, e.g., as operative in the compressors. In use, the lubricant guide member is disposed transverse to a longitudinal axis of a shaft that is configured to rotate a slinger member to fling the lubricant. This configuration captures lubricant that falls downwardly from other parts of the compressors. The angled surfaces of the side members direct this captured lubricant toward the shaft, and other rotating components, of the lubricating system.

Abstract: A handheld four-stroke engine lubricating system comprises: an oil storage chamber formed by a bottom casing and a lower tank body, a crankshaft chamber formed by the lower tank body and an upper tank body, an air valve chamber formed by the upper tank body and a cylinder head cover, a cam chamber formed by the upper tank body and a cam chamber cover, and a tappet chamber connected between the air valve chamber and the cam chamber. The two sides of the upper and lower tank bodies are correspondingly provided with a first and a second oil inlet passages communicated with the oil storage chamber and the crankshaft chamber. The first and the second oil inlet passages are correspondingly provided with first and second check valves thereon. The first oil inlet passage is connected to a hose pressed against the bottom casing.
