A body comprises a first end adjoining the base, a distal end distanced from the first end, and a groove extending from the distal end towards the first end. A sleeve surrounds the body and is fitted to the cylindrical inner surface. The sleeve comprises an opening, and a ball aligns the opening with the groove.

A rocker arm includes a roller, a support shaft coaxially mounted in the roller, walls arranged along a rotation axis and having the roller therebetween and having through holes, respectively, through which end portions of the support shaft are inserted, and each of the walls having an inner surface opposite the roller, and holding members mounted in the respective walls. The holding member includes a tubular portion mounted in each through hole and disposed between an inner peripheral surface of the through hole and an outer surface of an end portion of the support shaft, a first stopper portion included at a first end of the tubular portion to be in contact with the inner surface of one of the walls, and a second stopper portion included at a second end of the tubular portion to be in contact with an end surface of one of the end portions.

The cam follower roller device comprises a body, a shaft mounted on the body, a roller mounted on the shaft and able to rotate, and a plain bearing interposed radially between the shaft and the roller. An outer surface and/or an inner surface of the plain bearing comprise a plurality of cavities. The ratio of the sum of the surfaces areas of the cavities to the total surface area of the outer surface, or of the inner surface, in which the cavities are formed is between 2% and 40%. The cavities have a depth between 0.5 μm and 5 μm.

A variable valve train for gas exchange lifting valve of an internal combustion engine. The valve can be moved between open and closed positions periodically by way of a cam via a rocker arm. The variable valve train includes a camshaft having at least first and second cams which are arranged offset in the longitudinal direction of the camshaft. The first and second cams having cam contours. The valve train includes a rocker arm mounted which pivots about a rocker arm axis and is assigned to the at least one first cam via a pressure roller at its camshaft-side end and is connected to at least one lifting valve at its valve-side end, and a roller lever which is assigned to the at least one second cam at its camshaft-side end and is articulated at its other end on the rocker arm and pivots about the rocker arm axis.

The support element includes a first axial abutment feature blocking the translation of a pin assembly including at least the pin, in a first direction parallel to a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. The mechanical system additionally includes an insert inserted in the support element and supporting the pin opposite the first axial abutment feature, wherein the first axial abutment feature protrudes outside a cavity delimited by the support element and receiving the pin.

A method for manufacturing a roller, adapted to equip a mechanical system forming a cam follower or a rocker arm. The roller is centered on a central axis and comprising: an outer cylindrical surface adapted to roll on a cam, an inner cylindrical bore adapted to receive a pin belonging to the mechanical system, and two lateral faces extending radially to the central axis. The method includes a machining step forming circular grooves that are concentric with each other on at least one of the lateral faces of the roller. The roller can be installed within a mechanical system.

A roller tappet for a fuel unit pump of an internal combustion engine is provided with a roller tappet bore for inserting the roller tappet within the internal combustion engine. The roller tappet includes a roller tappet body having a body longitudinal axis for connecting the roller tappet to a reciprocating element of the fuel unit pump. A cam roller contacts a cam lobe of a rotatable shaft of the internal combustion engine. The cam roller is rotatably mounted to the roller tappet body around a cam roller rotation axis. The external surface of the roller tappet body is configured to allow tilting of the roller tappet within the roller tappet bore for aligning the roller tappet with respect to the cam lobe of the rotatable shaft.
