The device is suitable for transportation by air, sea, and land. In this context, the vehicles are not unloaded from the device, even in the case of combined land, sea, or air transportation. The device consists of a lower pallet and an upper pallet. The upper pallet is supported on booms which, in turn, rest on the lower pallet. The booms are individually height-adjustable so that the upper pallet can be tilted relative to the lower pallet in the longitudinal direction. At the second end, there is a support element on which the device can be moved in the lengthwise direction, at least if it has been slightly lifted at the opposite first end.

A transportable load carrying platform comprising a base to support a load during transportation. One or a plurality of support frames are positioned towards one or two ends of base and are configured to pivot between three positions. In a first position, the end frames extends upwardly from the base, in a second position the end frames extend outwardly and downwardly from the base and in a third position the end frames are substantially flat and parallel to the base to reduce the overall height of the platform. Pivot means allow the support frames to pivot relative to the base between the various positions. Suitable load transfer means are provided to effectively transfer any applied loading forces from the support frames to the base.

A collapsible intermodal transport platform and methods for its operation are disclosed. The invention comprises first braces that rotate about a mounting point on the frame that supports a cargo loading surface. The first braces are positioned along the platform so as to provide lifting and stacking fitments at the standard overhead crane lifting points when in a lift configuration. The first braces may be rotated inboard down to the loading surface, thereby presenting stacking blocks at the crane lifting points for stacking several platforms together. Second braces attach to the first braces to assist in load distribution. The frame may comprise center feet extensions to further assist in load distribution. Other features and aspects disclosed lend to the invention's low weight and high carrying capacity, as well as its unique load securing features.
