    摘要: A multiple spindle drilling apparatus (10) having an eccentric drive link (11), and a primary drive mechanism (12) coupled to the drive link (11) in an eccentric off-set manner. This eccentric off-set causes eccentric circular motion of the drive link (11) about a predetermined radius (R). A frame member (15) is included, as well as a plurality of in-line spindle units (16) rotatably mounted to the frame member (15) for rotation about corresponding spindle axis (17) thereof. An off-set coupling (21) is rotatably mounted between the drive link (11) and respective crank members (20) mounted to corresponding spindle drive shafts (22) to drive the spindle about the spindle axis (17). The coupling (21) is eccentrically off-set from the spindle axis by a radial distance substantially equivalent to the predetermined radius, and further in-phase with the eccentric off-set of the drive link (11).

    摘要: A tapping attachment for threading a relatively large number of holes through a sheet metal part at a relatively low cost per hole. The tapping attachment includes a thrust bearing assembly which is aligned with a turret-type punch press or the like and movable in response to an axially directed force generated by the punch press. The axially directed force applied from the press to the thrust bearing assembly is transferred to a spline shaft. The spline shaft is rotated wihin and moved linearly relative to a screw threaded roller nut, whereby the axially directed force is converted into a rotating force for advancing and turning a tap at high speeds of rotation. A nitrogen reservoir is provided so that a supply of gas is available for returning the thrust bearing assembly and the spline shaft to their initial positions in order that a new hole can be tapped in response to another axially directed force. Also provided is an oil reservoir so that a supply of oil is available for lubricating and cooling the tap via an oil spout.

The driven side of the motor unit (11) can be plugged together with the machining unit directly or by way of at least one gear (5, 6) or by way of a connecting coupling (8) for a flexible shaft (9) into a rotational connection. With the use of such a machining unit, individual spindles can likewise be operated economically.

    摘要: A milling machine head assembly has a milling machine head mounted on a movable carriage, for movement with the carriage and for angular movement relative to the carriage about a predetermined axis. A motor is mounted on the carriage for movement with the carriage but is maintained stationary during angular movement of the machine head. Drive power is transmitted from the motor to the machine head in any angular position of the machine head within said angular movement. For this purpose, a power transmission is twistable relative to said predetermined axis and extends along said predetermined axis through the carriage from the motor to the machine head in the form of a twistable endless belt. The power transmission may include two parallel shafts comprising a spindle shaft for operating a tool bit, and an auxiliary shaft adapted to be driven off the motor by a first belt via one end of the auxiliary shaft. A belt and pulley transmission interconnects another end of the auxiliary shaft with the spindle shaft. The auxiliary shaft is mounted for pivotal movement between the ends thereof about a pivot axis located between the first belt and the belt and pulley transmission and extending at right angles to the auxiliary shaft to permit selective slackening and tightening of the belt and pulley transmission.
