    摘要: A door machine is provided for the production of a raised-panel door product of the type having a central panel framed in a sash of left and right stiles and upper and lower rails. In this type of raised panel door, the stiles and rails are joined by four butt joints to form the sash which features four inner edges that join the four edges of the central panel in edge joints. Preferably, the rails extend between and space apart the stiles and as such, these rails have opposite "butt" edges. The door machine includes a stand and a table on the stand formed with openings. The table and stand support a power and drive assembly which includes at least driven three spindles. Each spindle has a head for mounting a knife, and this head protrudes through an opening in the table as slightly above a plane of the table. The knives include a panel knife and an associated fence for shaping all four edges of the central panel, a stile knife and associated fence for shaping each inner edge of both stiles and both rails, and a coping knife and associated fence for shaping the butt edges. Altogether, the spindle heads and fences are spatially distributed around the table to avoid interference with one another for the shaping work to be performed by each spindle.

    摘要: A workbench having multiple sections, each variable in width, connected together to form a work surface. A movable tool platform is located on each section, so that the platform is movable over the surface of the workbench section. A tool is mounted to each of the tool platforms, such that the tool is moved forward for working on a workpiece and backward to allow the front of the workbench to be used as a work surface. Thus, the workpiece is placed at the front of the workbench, and each tool needed for work on the workpiece is then moved, in turn, to the front of the workbench where it is used to perform work on the workpiece. The workbench can have a separation between the sections, to allow shavings and other waste material to fall below the work surface of the workbench and out of the way.

    摘要: A multi-axis machining apparatus including structure for positioning a workpiece in a precise and repeatable manner in relation to a tool bit. The multi-axis machining apparatus includes a main table forming a horizontally disposed upper surface and having an opening for mounting a first tool in an inverted position therein and for projecting a first bit upward through the opening and above said upper surface. The horizontal upper surface has coplanar first and second axes intersecting each other in perpendicular relationship and the opening is centered on a vertical third axis, intersecting the first and second axes in perpendicular relationship therewith. A fence structure may be attached or formed integral to the carriage assembly for guiding movements of a workpiece along the upper surface of the main table. A second table assembly is attachable to the underside of the first table. A carriage assembly may be operatively engaged to the main table for moving the carriage assembly in a direction parallel to the second axis. The carriage assembly may include a carriage operatively engaged therein. A second tool having a second bit oriented in a downward position parallel to the third axis may be mounted to the carriage. A positioner assembly permits variable movement of the carriage assembly and fence structure in a direction parallel to the second axis in a precise and repeatable manner. For use in conjunction with the first tool, other table assemblies may be attached to the carriage assembly for performing machining operations on a workpiece.

    摘要: A process is described, with the aid of which panel-type workpieces to be manufactured from a panel blank may also be provided with flat face and/or end face bores in the course of their manufacture. For this purpose, the panel blank is displaced transversely to the cutting plane into a stop position, the flat face bores pertaining to one of the workpieces to be manufactured are subsequently made in the one flat side of the panel blank. To make the further flat face bores for the workpiece, the panel blank is then transported further in a clocked manner through predetermined paths in the same direction and bored after each advance. Upon completion of all of the flat face bores, the panel blank is displaced in a clocked manner in the opposite direction into predetermined positions, fixed after each advance, and lastly severed.For the end face boring, the panel blank is displaced in the direction of advance through a path corresponding to a side length of a workpiece and subsequently clamped and severed. The resulting workpiece is then displaced in the direction of advance through a predetermined path, clamped and bored at the end face located opposite to the bored end face. The remaining part of the panel blank is displaced in the direction of advance into a stop position, likewise bored at the end face, and lastly displaced again in the direction of advance through a path corresponding to a side length of a workpiece, clamped and severed, whereupon the same procedural steps are repeated.
