    摘要: Embodiments of the present invention provide methods and equipment for automatically assembling three panes of glass and corresponding spacers so that air or other gas can be injected into the two between-pane spaces. The equipment can receive two glass panes that each have spacers coupled to one of their major surfaces, along with a third glass pane having no spacer coupled to its major surfaces, and can assemble the three glass panes into a “teepee” configuration in which the two spacers each contact two of the glass panes along a common edge of the glass panes. Preferred equipment can receive a glass pane in a first orientation and rotate the glass pane 180° to a second orientation in which the glass pane's two major surfaces face opposite directions from the first orientation. Such preferred equipment can then receive a two-pane teepee from a previous piece of equipment and can add the “flipped” single glass pane to the teepee to create a three-pane teepee.

    摘要: An air flotation assembly table utilized in the application of sealant strip material to the perimeter edges of sheet material, the assembly table having a flat work surface upon which the flat sheet material, such as a glass sheet, is placed for applying the sealant strip material to successive perimeter edges thereof. The flat work surface has a plurality of spaced-apart air holes through which air is emitted to float the sheet material slightly thereabove. In combination with the assembly table there is included a vacuum cup assembly for linearly positioning the sheet material so that an edge of the sheet material is presented to the workman, the vacuum cup assembly further including a vacuum cup for adhering to the sheet material, and a lift shaft for raising and lowering the vacuum cup. The vacuum cup assembly is mounted to a carriage which is selectively actuated for linear movement by a band cylinder. A plurality of detectors on the flat work surface are activated or deactivated by sheet material rotation, and the detectors interact with the vacuum cup assembly for positioning the sheet material on the table.

    摘要: A face of a sheet, e.g. of glass, is moved past an extrusion nozzle to deposit a plastic filament adjacent a first edge thereof. The movement is interrupted when a corner is reached. The nozzle and sheet are moved away from each other to detach the filament adjacent the corner and the sheet is rotated to present its next edge to the nozzle while retaining the continuity of the filament. The nozzle and sheet are then returned to depositing position and the relative movement resumed to deposit the filament adjacent the next edge. The apparatus includes means for raising the sheet from conveyor belts and raising the extrusion devive by a greater amount, and then turning the sheet by a suction cup arm, the sheet being supported by rollers during the turning. A detector monitors the position of the sheet and controls the operation of the apparatus.

    摘要: Apparatus for applying plastic material to the four edges of a multiple-pane window comprises first and second pairs of nozzles and first and second carriers for moving the window horizontally between the nozzles of each pair in succession. Transfer means, particularly a rotating column with a laterally extending arm, transfers the window from one carrier to the other and rotates the window to bring the edges uncoated at the first station in position for coating at the second station. The transfer device is advantageously correlated with the downstream limit of the first carrier and the upstream limit of the second carrier to transfer and rotate the window about its axis of symmetry. A function of the window length on the first carrier is measured and the separation of the nozzles of the second pair adjusted accordingly. A supply device centers a window and deposits it in a predetermined centered position in the first carrier. A downstream manipulator raises the windows to vertical positions, and a leading edge detector stops the second carrier when the leading edge of each window is a predetermined distance from the axis of rotation of the manipulator.

    摘要: A system that can travel and rotate and is designed in the manner of an at least one-armed robot is used for handling spacer frames in the course of the production of insulating glass. The system grasps a spacer frame with a gripper system provided to rotate at the free end of the robot arm. A spacer frame is moved by the system to stations of a line for producing insulating glass. For example, a spacer frame is held in a station for producing spacer frames, moved to a station for filling the spacer frame, when the spacer frame is to be filled with hygroscopic material, then further moved to a station, in which the lateral surfaces of the spacer frame are coated with sealing and adhesive agents, and finally moved to a station for assembling insulating glass, in which the spacer frame is mounted on a glass panel.
