摘要: The invention relates to a method for forming a filter medium, which is suitable for filtering fluids, for a filter element, said method having at least the following steps: —applying at least one self-contained sealant (16, 28) onto a fluid-permeable media web (14) in a specifiable direction (26), —producing a solid composite at least between parts of the sealant (16, 28) and the media web (14), —pleating the composite, thereby forming individual filter folds, —producing a hollow body such that in order to —obtain at least one seal region on the media web (14), the respective sealant (16, 28) is arranged on the inner face of the hollow body, a seal is produced for each filter fold, and an end-face seal of the media web (14) is produced. An application medium is applied as the sealant (16, 28) onto the media web (14) in a strip-shaped manner along at least one longitudinal edge (51) of the media web (14), said sealant forming the respective seal region when cured.

A bypass valve device has a valve closure element (65) preloaded by a closing spring (69) into a closed position in which it bears against a valve seat part (74). If the filter element (13) is blocked, the closure element opens up a fluid path from the non-filtrate side (15) to the filtrate side (17), by passing the filter element (13). The valve closure element (65) and the closing spring (69) are on the cover part (51). The valve seat part (74) is on an element cap (43) of the filter element (13). The element cap has a receiving part (45) forming an enclosure for that end of the filter material (27) of the filter element (13) facing toward the cover part (51).

A flow directing device (33) directs the unfiltrate flow to the surface sections of the filter material (11) of the filter element (7) to provide a filtering action when the device is in operation. The flow directing device is a molded component (33) that belongs to the filter head (5) and to which a fluid flow is applied.

The element retainer (23) includes a retaining piece (35) open towards the filter element (9) with a fluid channel (37) leading to a housing connection (24). The end cap (21) has a connecting piece (27) in the retaining piece (35). The retaining piece (35) forms an opening (43) connected to the fluid channel (37) leading to the element retainer (23). A sealing (45, 47) seals the opening from the open end of the retaining piece.
