    摘要: A method of applying dye to keratin fibres comprises pretreating the fibres by contacting them with an alkaline solution of an amphoteric surfactant, and thereafter applying dye to the pretreated fibres from a dyeing solution substantially deficient of surfactant-type levelling agents. Also disclosed is a novel surfactant compound comprising an alkoxylated hydroxysulphobetaine of formula: ##STR1## where: R.sub.1 is a hydrocarbon group selected from the range C.sub.12 H.sub.25 up to C.sub.21 H.sub.43 ; andR.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are poly(alkylene oxide) groups, each having n alkylene oxide units, where 3.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.21.In another aspect, there is disclosed a method of applying dye to keratin fibres comprising contacting the fibres with a bath liquor comprising an alkaline solution of the above surfactant, and thereafter adding dye to the bath liquor and applying the dye to the fibres from the bath liquor.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for dyeing natural or synthetic polyamide fibre material from an aqueous liquor with dyes, in the presence of an alkali metal salt or an ammonium salt and in the presence of an assistant, which process comprises dyeing said fibre material with at least one sulfonated 1:1 metal complex dye or with a mixture containing at least one sulfonated 1:1 metal complex dye and at least one sulfonated metal-free dye, in the presence of 10 to 45 percent by weight of an alkali fluorosilicate or ammonium fluorosilicate or a mixture thereof, based on the amount of the 1:1 metal complex dye employed, and in the presence of an assistant at a pH value of 3 to 5.The process of the invention is suitable for dyeing natural or synthetic polyamide materials to give non-skittery and level dyeings of good fastness properties.

    摘要: An assistant combination for use as textile finishing agent, especially in a process for aftertreating wool dyeings, which comprises(1) a diquaternary ammonium salt of formula ##STR1## wherein Q is a divalent aliphatic hydrocarbon radical of 2 to 12 carbon atoms which may be interrupted in the chain by oxygen atoms and is unsubstituted or substituted by hydroxy.R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each independently of the other an aliphatic radical of 6 to 24 carbon atoms,R.sub.3 to R.sub.6 are independently of the other lower alkyl, hydroxy-lower alkyl or lower alkoxy-lower alkyl,X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are each oxygen or --NH--,Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2 are each independently of the other C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkylene, andY.sup..crclbar. is an anion of a strong inorganic or organic acid, and(2) (A) a mono- or polyquaternary ammonium salt which carries at least one hydrocarbon radical of not less than 7 carbon atoms attached to the nitrogen atom, or(B) a polymeric ammonium salt, or(C) a basic non-quaternized nitrogen-containing polycondensate.
