    摘要: Methods and systems are provided for an exhaust muffler system with multiple inlets of different diameters. In one example, the muffler system may include multiple sets of inlet pipes to a muffler with each set of inlet pipes including pipes of different diameters with valves controlling exhaust flow into the inlet pipes. Exhaust from an engine bank may flow to a distinct set of inlet pipes and a distinct outlet pipe of the muffler via a separate exhaust passage.

The resonator pipe provides fluid communication between the first volume and the second volume. The second outlet pipe passes through the second volume. The second outlet pipe is surrounded, in a circumferential direction, by the resonator pipe in a section in which the second outlet pipe penetrates the partition wall.

The muffler provides three baffles which are hinged over the center of the muffler. The exhaust pressure travels through the muffler and pushes the baffles until they open to release the pressure. The angle of incidence of the baffles on their hinges governs the loudness of the sound.

The silencer includes an exhaust gas flow pipe for guiding exhaust gas with an exhaust gas inlet opening, an exhaust gas outlet opening having a flow connection to the exhaust gas inlet opening, and a longitudinal center axis. It furthermore has at least one actuable adjustment body for influencing the flow of the exhaust gas in the exhaust gas flow gas pipe, the at least one adjustment body being arranged downstream of the exhaust gas inlet opening. Moreover, the silencer includes at least one bypass channel, which has a flow connection to the exhaust gas flow pipe, runs past the at least one adjustment body and has an exhaust gas outlet opening.

    摘要: A passive valve assembly for an engine exhaust system includes an exhaust conduit for transferring exhaust gases from the engine and a valve plate that is operably disposed within the exhaust conduit. A pivot rod has an internal section that is coupled with the valve plate, such that the valve plate may pivot between an open position and a closed position. The pivot rod also has an external section that protrudes from the exhaust conduit. A stop feature is disposed at or near an exterior surface of the exhaust conduit in a location arranged to contact the external section of the pivot rod and prevent the valve plate from pivoting beyond one of the open position and the closed position.

    摘要: An exhaust muffler has downstream and upstream chambers which are defined in a casing. Exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine is introduced into an end of a first conduit having a pierced region which is held in fluid communication with the downstream chamber and an end of a second conduit. The other ends of the first and second conduits are open into the upstream chamber. A valve means configured to open/close the first and second conduits is actuated by valve actuating means to switch between a short channel mode discharging the exhaust gas from at least the first conduit through the pierced region, the downstream chamber, and a discharge pipe out of the casing and a long channel mode discharging the exhaust gas from at least the second conduit through the upstream chamber, the pierced region, the downstream chamber, and the discharge pipe out of the casing.
