A thermoplastic resin composition includes: a resin composite consisting of thermoplastic resins of (A) and (B) and nanoparticles having an average particle size larger than or equal to 1 nm and smaller than or equal to 1 μm and being locally unevenly distributed in the pattern of a curve or a straight line connecting consecutive points at a fracture surface of the resin composite at the observation for scanning electron microscope, wherein the thermoplastic resin (B) is a block copolymer including a block (B1) having compatibility with (A) and a block (B2) having no compatibility with (A).

Structurants for agrochemical oil based active formulations, and in particular for use in agrochemical concentrate and diluted concentrates, for suspending solids in oil based formulations. The solids are one or more agrochemical actives and/or nutrients which are dispersed in the formulations. The structurant is polyamide formed from a dicarboxylic acid comprised from a dimer acid compound, and one or more diamine compounds. The present invention also includes methods of treating crops with such micronutrient formulations.

A process for controlling bacterial and fungal growth in a plant that includes (a) applying to a surface of a plant an aqueous composition that include a copper compound, a zinc compound, and a manganese compounds; and (b) allowing the composition to dry to form a treated plant. The treated plant displays increased resistance to bacterial and fungal growth relative to an untreated plant.

We disclose novel metallic nanoparticles coated with a thin protective carbon shell, and three-dimensional nano-metallic sponges; methods of preparation of the nanoparticles; and uses for these novel materials, including wood preservation, strengthening of polymer and fiber/polymer building materials, and catalysis.

A pesticide composition includes at least one biologically inert carrier; and at least one ferrite or at least one doped component including at least one fixed copper compound doped with at least one compound selected from the group consisting of iron compounds, zinc compounds, magnesium compounds, calcium compounds, and combinations and/or mixtures thereof. In one embodiment, the doped component has a particle size of about 0.5 nm to about 30 microns. A method for the control of pests includes the step of applying to the pests or their growth habitat the aforementioned composition. The method also includes the control of fungal and other diseases in banana plants, by applying the aforementioned composition to their growth habitat in banana plant groves.

According to the present invention there is provided a preservative formulation for use in treating wood or other cellulosic formulations, said formulation comprising: at least one biocidal metal compound; at least one organic compound; and a carrier. Preferably, the preservative formulation is copper/(tebuconazole/propiconazole) in a ratio of about 1:3 w/w; the carrier is preferably aqueous or spirit-based.

The invention relates to a liquid formulation that stimulates the germination of seeds and the rooting of plants, including water-soluble addition compounds from the K vitamin group together with complexed microelements and essential amino acids, which acts by improving the metabolic processes that occur during the different stages in the development of treated plants, improving the appearance thereof, activating defence responses and promoting resistance to adverse conditions, both biotic and abiotic, thereby allowing harvest production and yields to be increased.
Abstract:
A process for the preparation of an antimicrobial coating solution is described. The process comprises the steps of: (i) mixing a chelating agent with titanium alkoxide and fluoroacetic acid; and (ii) adding an aqueous solution to the mixture from step (i). The antimicrobial coating described is visible light activated. The coating is applied to surfaces and then heat treated to form a transparent layer on the surface. This is particularly advantageous where the surface is glass.

The antimicrobial composition can be used in the preparation of a medicament for treating microbes or a microbial infection, and may contain a carrier to create a cream, soap, wash, spray, dressing, cleanser, cosmetic product, topical drug product, or other antimicrobial product.
