    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for wireless communication. In an aspect, a method of wireless communication performed by a first pedestrian user equipment (PUE) includes performing a ranging operation to a set of UEs, the set including at least a second PUE, and providing ranging data to a third entity, the third entity comprising a vehicle user equipment (VUE) or a road-side unit (RSU). The set of UEs may be randomly selected or selected using a selection algorithm. The set of UEs may be selected by the PUE or by the third entity. The ranging data may include the location of the first PUE, and may include a report on the battery status of the first PUE. The third entity may use the ranging data to update estimated positions of the first PUE and the set of UEs.

    Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating beam-based sequence spaces for synchronization signals are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication for a first device includes selecting a subset of synchronization signal block (SSB) occasions including SSB occasions within an SSB period, and wherein the subset of SSB occasions is associated with a pairing of a primary synchronization signal (PSS) and a secondary synchronization signal (SSS). The example method also includes transmitting an SSB using at least one SSB occasion from the subset of SSB occasions. An example method for wireless communication for a user equipment (UE) includes selecting a synchronization signal pairing associated with a pairing of a PSS and a SSS, wherein the synchronization signal pairing maps to a subset of SSB occasions including SSB occasions within an SSB period, and also includes monitoring for an SSB at each SSB occasion from the subset of SSB occasions.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE), e.g., such as a pedestrian UE (PUE), may detect, during a first transmission period of a discontinuous transmission cycle, a transmission over a sidelink channel from a second UE that is located within a threshold distance from the first UE, the first UE associated with a first identifier. The first UE may determine, based at least in part on the transmission, a second identifier associated with the second UE, the second identifier being different from the first identifier. The first UE may use, based at least in part on the second UE being within the threshold distance, the first identifier and the second identifier during one or more subsequent transmission periods of the discontinuous transmission cycle.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include a first wireless device transmitting, to a third wireless device associated with a signal relaying device, a first message querying whether the third wireless device is able to establish a first communications link with a second wireless device. The first wireless device may receive, from the third wireless device, signaling indicative of whether the third wireless device is able to establish the first communications link with the second wireless device and communicate with the second wireless device via a second communications link using a signal relaying device of the one or more signal relaying devices associated with the third wireless device based on the signaling.
