A system for remotely controlling the doors of an automotive vehicle with a reduced number of transmitters to be held and a reduced number of buttons of the transmitters is disclosed. The transmitter has a lock button and an unlock button. Upon depression of the lock button or the unlock button, a corresponding demand signal is transmitted repeatedly. The demand signal includes an ID code, a button code and a time code. The button code indicates the identification of the lock button or the unlock button. The time code indicates whether a button has been kept depressed for at least a predetermined length of time or the number of times the button is depressed. The receiver controls the door lock/unlock operation and the door open/close operation based on the button code and the time code. The time code can be replaced with a number-of-times code indicating the number of times a button is depressed.

The integration time constant of the offset compensating circuit which supplies the reference voltage to the differential amplifier for amplifying the output of the sensor can be set at a required value even when using a small-capacitance capacitor.

A theft-notifying method is applicable for a motor vehicle having a motor vehicle telephone system and a theft-alarm system. The method comprises the steps for pre-storing into a memory telephone numbers of a notifiee to which an alarm is sent when a theft occurs. When theft is detected, the theft-alarm system signals the theft condition to the vehicle telephone system. The vehicle telephone system then automatically dials a notifiee whose telephone number is stored in the memory. A vehicle owner is thus notified of the abnormality and take measures for the prevention of theft even at night or even when nobody is near the vehicle.

The method begins with receiving a vibration alert from a sensor installed in a vehicle. The sensor may be an accelerometer, gyroscope, or motion-capable sensor and is in communication with a low power radar sensor that is also installed in the vehicle. A low power radar sensor is activated in response to the vibration alert. At least one radar signature is received from the low power radar sensor. The radar signature is then compared with at least one driver radar signature. The driver radar signature is recorded when a driver occupies a driver seat position and operates the vehicle. Based on the comparison, a determination is made whether to issue a vehicle disturbance alert.

Information is received from an inertial measurement unit (IMU) attached to a structure hosting at least one sensor. The information includes one or more measurements associated with the IMU. The at least one sensor is deployed on a vehicle for sensing surrounding information to facilitate autonomous driving. The one or more measurements are analyzed with respect to pre-determined criteria to detect tampering of the at least one sensor. When the tampering is detected, a response is generated to the event.
