摘要: A three-dimensional fiber-reinforced composite includes a laminate having fiber bundle layers that are laminated in the laminating direction and include first and second outermost layers, primary and secondary retention yarns, and a binding yarn. The binding yarn includes a fold-back section, primary and secondary traverse yarn sections, a surface yarn section that extends along the surface of the second outermost layer in the direction substantially perpendicular to the secondary retention yarn, and a bifurcated section that is formed on the surface of the second outermost layer and connected to the primary and secondary traverse yarn sections. The bifurcated section is formed by crossing the surface yarn section that extends in opposite directions in the outside in the laminating direction of the secondary retention yarn.

摘要: A process for making a fiberglass service body. The process includes first providing a mold body having a flange extending around an outside periphery of the mold body. Next, the mold body is coated with a gel-coat layer. At least one layer of fiberglass is then placed onto the mold over the gel-coat layer. The next step is to place a cover over the mold body to completely cover the fiberglass. Breather strips are then inserted around the outside periphery of the mold body, a plenum is placed onto the mold flange, and a vacuum is attached to the plenum. Once a resin is injected through the cover into the fiberglass, the fiberglass is cured under vacuum before the fiberglass service body is removed from the mold.

摘要: A molding head is especially adapted for vacuum molding or forming of structures and, in particular, fibrous composite structures in an adjustable, controllable three dimensional orientation before, during and after molding. Such a molding head includes a mold plate with narrow slots in the mold surface thereof and wider channels in the back surface thereof, with such slots and channels intersecting one another. A control system of servomotors or other actuators permits movement and orientation of the mold head during forming, thereby creating the ability to vary the material properties based on gravity and particle or suspension grain, thickness and other now controllable properties.

摘要: A tubular body comprising: a main body layer formed by winding a fiber-reinforced prepreg including reinforcing fibers impregnated with a synthetic resin; and a reinforcing layer wounded around the main body. The reinforcing layer includes: an axial fiber layer including reinforcing fibers aligned in an axial direction of the tubular body; a skew fiber layer formed by aligning a first skew fiber layer formed of reinforcing fibers aligned in a skew direction and a second skew fiber layer formed of reinforcing fibers aligned in a different skew direction; a circumferential fiber layer formed by aligning reinforcing fibers in a circumferential direction of the tubular body. The axial fiber layer, the skew fiber layer and the circumferential fiber are braided with a braiding yarn softer than the reinforcing fibers to form braided prepreg as the reinforcing layer.

摘要: A furnace furniture system comprises multiple shelves supported by a multiplicity of legs, each shelf having multiple openings therethrough. Each leg comprises: (i) at least one modular body having a bottom recess and a top protrusion, the top protrusion adapted to extend through an opening in the shelf and the first protrusion is also adapted to fit within the bottom recess of another leg body; (ii) at least one cap/foot component having a top protrusion that is similar to the leg body top protrusion; and, (iii) means to secure a cap/foot component to an adjacent cap/foot component or leg body; wherein at least one leg comprises a cap/foot component secured to either a first protrusion or a second protrusion extending through an opening in the first shelf and wherein at least one leg comprises a cap/foot component secured to either a first protrusion or a second protrusion extending through an opening in the second shelf. The furnace furniture may also comprise ceramic components to isolate work pieces from contact with the shelves and/or legs. Additionally, the furniture may include ceramic survey rings.
