Abstract: A conductive agent dispersion includes carbon nanotubes, a dispersant, and a dispersion medium, wherein the dispersant includes a main dispersant and an auxiliary dispersant, wherein the main dispersant is a hydrogenated nitrile-based copolymer, a residual double bond value of the hydrogenated nitrile-based copolymer according to Equation 1 satisfies 0.3 wt % or less, and the auxiliary dispersant is a copolymer including an oxyalkylene unit and at least one of a styrene unit and an alkylene unit. An electrode and a lithium secondary battery which are prepared by using the same are also provided.

Abstract: Compounds that can be produced by a ring-opening reaction of epoxidized alkanes or epoxidized fatty acid esters having a molecular weight greater than 200 grams per mole are blended with polar polymers to improve the gloss of the polar polymers. These compounds include at least one polar functional group and are blended with polar polymers, or blends comprising at least one polar polymer, in order to improve the gloss of these polymers, such that they have suitable gloss right out of the manufacturing operation without the need for further painting or lamination steps. These compounds may also improve the impact strength of the polar polymers. Also disclosed are composite structures wherein an outer cap layer is made from the polar polymer blended with the gloss improving additive.

Abstract: A process is disclosed herein comprising the steps:
a) contacting an esterifying agent and a polysaccharide in the presence of a first solvent and suitable reaction conditions for a reaction time sufficient to form a product comprising a polysaccharide ester composition, the polysaccharide ester composition comprising a polysaccharide ester having a degree of substitution of about 0.001 to about 3;
wherein the esterifying agent comprises an acyl halide, a phosphoryl halide, a carboxylic acid anhydride, a haloformic acid ester, a carbonic acid ester, or a vinyl ester; and
the ratio of esterifying agent to polysaccharide is in the range of about 0.001:1 to about 3:1 on a molar equivalent basis;
b) combining the product obtained in step a) with polyacrylonitrile; and
c) spinning fibers.-

Abstract: A porous composition comprising a porous organic polymer (POP) fiber having a diameter of at least 100 nm and a length of at least 1 mm and pores having a size within a range of 10 nm to 5 microns distributed over the surface and volume of the POP fiber, wherein the organic polymer is insoluble in water and may be selected from, e.g., polyolefins, polyesters, polyamides, and polyacrylonitrile. Also described herein is a method for producing a POP fiber comprising: (i) forming a precursor fiber from a blend of an organic polymer and lignin, wherein the lignin is present in the form of domains within the precursor fiber; and (ii) washing the precursor fiber with a solvent that dissolves the lignin to result in the POP fiber. Also described herein is a method for removing oil from an oil-water mixture comprising contacting the oil-water mixture with the POP fibers.

Abstract: A resin composition is provided. Abstract: An adhesive composition, capable of achieving excellent life performance and a wide margin for mounting, includes a cationic polymerizable compound, an aluminum chelate/silanol-based curing catalyst, and a nucleophilic compound containing a sulfur atom having an unshared electron pair. The aluminum chelate/silanol-based curing catalyst includes an aluminum chelate curing agent, and a silanol compound or a silane coupling agent.
