Abstract:
A method and system is provided in which an electric automotive charging station connects to the host computer system using un-dedicated network resource contained within the electric vehicle to be charged enabling un-supervised (non-networked) deployment of said charging stations.
Abstract:
As the density of Electric Vehicle deployments in residential neighborhoods increase, demand on local power grids may exceed the local utility power supply causing local brown outs or transformer failure. The invention describes a method and process which enables the acquisition and efficient RF transmission of data that enables utility customers, utilities and/or other controlling entities to collaboratively regulate the timing and rate of Electric Vehicle battery charging in a manner that avoids peak-load related transformer failures.
Abstract:
A system and method for evaluating interfaces includes computing a reference script for a task from a reference interface design and translating the reference script into one or more target action scripts based on a target design. The one or more target action scripts on the target design are executed to produce target metrics. The target metrics are compared to determine whether the target action script successfully translates the reference script.
Abstract:
A process and apparatus for precision glass roll forming a supply of molten glass at a glass temperature of 1000° C. or higher. A pair of hot forming rolls having a surface temperature of about 500° C. or higher, vertically below the glass feed, that thin the supplied stream of molten glass to produce a formed glass ribbon. A pair of cold sizing rolls maintained at a surface temperature of about 400° C. or lower, vertically below the forming rolls, that thin the formed glass ribbon glass to produce a sized glass ribbon having a desired thickness and a desired thickness uniformity. The sized glass ribbon may have a thickness of 1 mm or less that varies in thickness by no more than +/−0.025 mm.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for determining processor usable idle time in a system employing a software instruction processor. The method establishes an idle task with a lowest processor priority for a processor executing application software instructions, and uses the processor to execute an idle task. The method ceases to execute the idle task in response to the processor executing application software instructions. The amount of periodic idle task execution is determined and stored in a tangible memory medium. For example, idle time amounts can be determined per a unit of time, i.e. a percentage per second. In one aspect, the method generates an idle task report. The report can be a periodic report expressing the duration of idle task execution per time period, or a course of execution report expressing idle task start times, idle task stop times, and durations between the corresponding start and stop times.
Abstract:
A method and system is provided in which multiple Slave Charge Stations are connected to a Master Charge Station which contains the single point metering method or power utility “smart meter” required by power utilities to access the power grid. This method describes the use of a plurality of Slave Charge Stations attached to the Master Charge Station using a daisy chain or hub and spoke attachment means.
Abstract:
A drill bit includes a bit body having a face on which two different types of cutting elements are disposed, the first type being cutting elements suitable for drilling at least one subterranean formation and the second type being cutting elements suitable for drilling through a casing bit disposed at an end of a casing or liner string and cementing equipment or other components, if such are disposed within the casing or liner string, as well as cement inside as well as exterior to the casing or liner string. The second type of cutting elements exhibits a relatively greater exposure than the first type of cutting elements, so as to engage the interior of the casing bit and, if present, cementing equipment components and cement to drill therethrough, after which the second type of cutting elements quickly wears upon engagement with the subterranean formation material exterior to the casing bit, and the first type of cutting elements continues to drill the subterranean formation. The first type of cutting elements may comprise superabrasive cutting elements and the second type of cutting elements may comprise abrasive or superabrasive cutting elements comprising a plurality of configurations.
Abstract:
A drill bit includes a bit body having a face on which two different types of cutters are disposed, the first type being cutting elements suitable for drilling at least one subterranean formation and the second type being at least one of an abrasive cutting structure and an abrasive cutting element suitable for drilling through a casing shoe, reamer shoe, casing bit, casing or liner string and cementing equipment or other components as well as cement Methods of forming earth-boring tools are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Macrocells, e.g., Random Access Memory (“RAM”), are arranged in columns and disposed in a core of an integrated circuit (IC) chip. The macrocells can abut each other within the columns or can be separated from each other by standard cells which are disposed to fill gaps between the macrocells within the columns. Power/ground rails are disposed vertically along the sides of the columns. The power/ground rails run the full height of the core and couple to a power/ground ring disposed along the perimeter of the core. The power/ground rails also couple to the macrocells and the standard cells and provide power to those cells. The columns can form right angles with horizontal standard cell rows, thus enabling the standard cells to couple easily to the vertically disposed power/ground rails.
