    Abstract: Provided is a casing protection bit mounted on a casing tube in combination with a cutter bit to prevent abrasion or chipping of the cutter bit. The present invention is to provide a casing protection bit 1 to be mounted on a casing tube, the casing protection bit including: a base portion 2 that protrudes in an axial direction of the casing tube, the base portion having a mountain shape; and two leg portions 3 and 4 extending continuously with the base portion 2 and facing each other at a predetermined distance. In the casing protection bit cemented carbide tips 5a to 5j are disposed on all planes of the base portion 2 except for a plane from which the leg portions 3 and 4 extend.

    Abstract: A drill bit is provided. The drill bit includes a bit body and an axle disposed in the bit body. The axle includes a first axle portion extending in a longitudinal direction and a second axle portion extending in the longitudinal direction. A longitudinal end of the first axle portion is continuous with a longitudinal end of the second axle portion. When viewed from the longitudinal direction, the first axle portion and the second axle portion are not coaxial, and an outer perimeter of the first axle portion is located entirely within an outer perimeter of the second axle portion. The drill bit also includes a first cutter disposed on the first axle portion and a second cutter disposed on the second axle portion.

    Abstract: Embodiments relate to a polycrystalline diamond compact (“PDC”) including a polycrystalline diamond (“PCD”) table bonded to a cemented carbide substrate including tungsten carbide grains having a fine average grain size to provide one or more of enhanced wear resistance, corrosion resistance, or erosion resistance, and a PDC with enhanced impact resistance. In an embodiment, a PDC includes a cemented carbide substrate having a cobalt-containing cementing constituent cementing tungsten carbide grains together exhibiting an average grain size of about 1.5 μm or less. The substrate includes an interfacial surface and a depletion zone depleted of the cementing constituent that extends inwardly from the interfacial surface to a depth of, for example, about 30 μm to about 60 μm. The PDC includes a PCD table bonded to the interfacial surface of the substrate. The PCD table includes diamond grains bonded together exhibiting an average grain size of about 40 μm or less.

    Abstract: A hybrid bit includes an earth-boring element and a percussion element. The earth-boring element and the percussion element are coaxially arranged, with the earth-boring element surrounding the percussion element. A reciprocating member of the percussion element may oscillate in a manner that enables a bottom end of the reciprocating member to repeatedly protrude from a bottom end of the earth-boring element and to be repeatedly withdrawn. A configuration of the earth-boring element may enable it to drill into and remove some materials from an earth formation, while the percussion element may enable the hybrid bit to drill into and remove difficult-to-drill materials, including abrasive materials and/or materials with high compressive forces, such as chert.
