    摘要: Thermoplastic adhesive and coating compositions which comprise (A) about 1 to 99 percent by weight of thermoplastic segmented copolyester elastomer consisting essentially of a multiplicity of recurring short chain ester units and long chain ester units joined through ester linkages, said short chain ester units amounting to about 15 to 75 percent by weight of said copolyester and being derived from aromatic dicarboxylic acid such as terephthalic acid, or a mixture of terephthalic and isophthalic acids, and an organic diol such as butanediol, and said long chain ester units amounting to about 25 to 85 percent by weight of said copolyester and being derived from aromatic dicarboxylic acid such as terephthalic acid, or a mixture of terephthalic and isophthalic acids, and a long chain glycol such as polytetramethylene ether glycol, said copolyester having a melt index of less than about 150 and a melting point of at least about 125.degree.C., and (B) about 1 to 99 percent by weight of one or more low molecular weight thermoplastic resins including hydrocarbon resins such as coumarone-indene resins, petroleum resins, styrene polymers, cyclopentadiene resins and terpene resins, bituminous asphalts, coal tar pitches, rosins, phenolic resins, chlorinated aliphatic hydrocarbon waxes, and chlorinated polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons.

    摘要: The present invention is a process for producing an injection-molded thermoplastic work piece having a thermoset coating bonded thereto, comprising the steps of introducing into a closed mold a thermoplastic material, such as a polyolefin, heated to a temperature above its melting point and molding said material to form a work piece; followed by introducing a thermoset coating composition capable of generating free radicals into the closed mold to contact at least a portion of a surface of the work piece, the temperature of which is at or above the temperature at which free radicals contained in the coating composition are generated. The mold is then opened and the work piece is removed after the coating composition has at least partially cured. The present invention is also directed to a molded article made by the described process.

    摘要: The present invention discloses a multicolor paint formulation which is comprised of:(1) from about 5 to about 30 weight percent of a neutralized latex made by a method which comprises (A) free radical aqueous emulsion polymerizing at a pH of less than about 3.5 a monomer mixture which comprises, based on 100 weight percent monomers: (a) from about 45 to about 85 weight percent vinyl aromatic monomers, (b) from about 15 to about 50 weight percent of at least one alkyl acrylate monomer, and (c) from about 1 to about 6 weight percent of at least one unsaturated carbonyl compound; in the presence of about 0.5 to 4.0 phm at least one phosphate ester surfactant and in the presence of about 0.5 to 4.0 phm of at least one water insoluble nonionic surface active agent to produce a latex, and (B) neutralizing the latex with ammonia to a pH which is within the range of about 7 to about 10.5 to produce the neutralized latex;(2) from about 0.5 to about 10 weight percent of hectorite clay;(3) from about 0.05 to about 1 weight percent of a cellulosic thickener;(4) from about 0.5 to about 10 weight percent of at least two pigments;(5) from about 0.5 to about 10 weight percent of an organic solvent;(6) from about 0.05 to about 2 weight percent of a plasticizer; and(7) from about 37 weight percent to about 93.4 weight percent water.
