A reusable washer assembly apparatus includes a generally ring-shaped flexible inner member, a generally ring-shaped outer member, a distal washer member, and a proximate washer member. The outer member is disposed around the inner member and is adapted for at least partial rotation about the inner member. The flexible inner member and outer member define a first gap between each other. The distal washer member communicates with a first surface of the inner member and the proximate washer member communicates with a second surface of the inner member. An applied force to at least one of the proximate washer member and the distal washer member causes the flexible inner member to deform and at least partially fill the first gap thereby preventing rotation of the outer member when the applied force reaches a threshold value.

A fixed wireless access communications system comprises an access point and a plurality of subscriber units. Each subscriber unit (502) contends for access to a communications channel to the access point by transmitting a contention word to the access point during a contention time slot. The contention word is predistorted to compensate for the channel impulse response of the transmission channel so that the access point can decode the contention words without using equalisation. A control unit (512), which may comprise a microprocessor, loads the predistorted contention word (a) into a memory (520) and causes the stored predistorted contention word (a) to be applied to a transmitter (508) during a contention time slot when the subscriber unit (502) wishes to request a transmission channel to transmit data to the access point.

Fabric and reinforcements are provided by this invention which, in a first embodiment, include a plurality of warp yarns having a first twist (turns/inch) and a plurality of weft yarns having a second twist which is greater than the first twist. A coating is applied over a substantial portion of the warp and weft yarns after they are assembled or laid together, so as to produce a weight distribution ratio of less than about 2.0:1, based upon the weight of the resinous coating of the weft yarns over the weight of the resinous coating on the warp yarns. This can be achieved, in substantial part, due to the difference in the twist ratios of the warp and weft yarns, which difference permits a more uniform coating to be applied. Further embodiments of this invention include a cementitious board and methods of making a coated fabric and cementitious board.

The sources of the pull-up transistors forming each of the CMOS inverters are coupled to VCC through parasitic resistance of the substrate in which each is formed. An apparatus and process for the separation, recovery and recycling of municipal solid waste (MSW) in which hot water 48 is added to shredded and homogenized MSW 2 as it enters a rotating feed preparation drum 34 equipped with internal lifter blades 36. The blades 36 and rotation of the drum 34 cause mixing and pulping of the MSW before discharge into a rotating thermal processor 56 also equipped with lifter blades 58 and cone section 64, and in which the moist MSW 2 is heated by heating the hot gases in the processor by a flame from burner 62 which converts the moisture in the MSW to steam. The steam permeates through the MSW as it is turned and lifted in the thermal processor 56, causing further pulping. The now cooked and treated MSW 2 is then fed to a conveyor 68 for transportation to a trommel screen for the separation of recyclable components. In a preferred embodiment plugs 70, 72 of MSW are maintained at the exit and entrance to the thermal processor 56 and act to provide a seal to maintain and control the temperature within the thermal processor 56 by reducing the egress of steam therefrom.
