Abstract:
A method and rivet apparatus to rivet a workpiece comprises an upper riveting portion and a lower riveting portion. The lower riveting portion comprising a fixed base, support member, and a pin assembly. The pin assembly comprises a center pin, a forming pin, a first biasing member, an outer shroud, and a second biasing member. The center pin pushes against a tail of a rivet to deform the tail of the rivet. The forming pin, fixedly coupled to the support member, pushes against the tail of the rivet to deform the tail of the rivet. The first biasing member, disposed below the center pin, biases the center pin through the forming pin and away from the support member. The outer shroud encircles the forming pin and the center pin. The second biasing member, disposed below the outer shroud, biases the outer shroud away from the support member.

Abstract:
A device for riveting brush holder and a brush holder plate, comprising a worktable. A positioning mechanism for positioning the brush holder and the brush holder plate is provided on the worktable. A left riveting cylinder and a right riveting cylinder are provided on two opposite sides of the worktable corresponding to the positioning mechanism, respectively, a left riveting die being provided at an end of the piston rod of the left riveting cylinder, a right riveting die being provided at an end of the piston rod of the right riveting cylinder. A first intelligent inching switch and a second intelligent inching switch are connected in series in the control circuit, the first intelligent inching switch being provided beside the left riveting cylinder, the second intelligent inching switch being provided beside the right riveting cylinder. Only when the first intelligent inching switch and the second intelligent inching switch are pressed down simultaneously, the left riveting cylinder and the right riveting cylinder can be started to drive the left riveting die and the right riveting die to rivet the brush holder and the brush holder plate which are positioned on the positioning mechanism.
Abstract:
A rivet setter that can efficiently and smoothly perform, and reduce the takt time for a rivet setting operation. The rivet setter can be configured to set a rivet sequentially fed from a rivet supplying means by inserting the rivet into apertures formed at predetermined positions on workpieces. The rivet setter can have delivery paths for delivering the rivet one by one by sliding the rivet down to a settable position and can have a hanging support portion formed in the settable position in the tip end of the delivery path for supporting the head of rivet and for hanging the rivet shank downward. The rivet setter can be configured to enable the rivet to be set in the apertures of the workpieces by moving the hanging support portion substantially horizontally while keeping the rivet suspended in the hanging support portion and inserted into the apertures of the workpieces.
Abstract:
An electromagnetic clamping system contains a housing, numerous permanent magnets, numerous low friction surfaces having a number of wheels, an end effector, an electromagnetic clamping device, first, second, and third coil systems, and a core. The end effector performs operations on a workpiece. The electromagnetic clamping device has an activated state and a deactivated state. The electromagnetic clamping device further includes a first coil system generating a first magnetic field causing normal forces on the permanent magnet unit and the clamping device; a second coil system generating a second magnetic field causing side forces on the permanent magnet unit; and a third coil system generating a third magnetic field causing a rotational force on the permanent magnet unit. The core provides access to the workpiece surface for performing operations thereon; and concentrates forces from a number of magnetic fields on the core surface contacting the workpiece surface.
Abstract:
A fastener automation system for assembly of fasteners to a substrate, includes a projection system for projecting an image on a substrate of a predetermined location of a correct fastener to be installed in the substrate and data relating to the correct fastener and the substrate, and a computer operably associated with the projection system storing data regarding the correct fastener and the predetermined location on the substrate where the correct fastener is to be installed. An automated method of installing a fastener in a substrate at a predetermined location includes using a projector system to identify a predetermined location for installation of a correct fastener to the substrate, collecting data regarding the correct fastener installation at the predetermined location and storing the data in a computer, and installing the correct fastener in the substrate at the predetermined location based upon the data.
Abstract:
A method for producing a plug connector and to a plug connector for rotationally connecting a first component to a second component, for example, in a clutch assembly, where the first component includes at least one connecting element, where the connecting element protrudes through an opening of the second component, where the connecting element has an end piece above the second component, where a cross-section of the end piece is wider than a cross-section of the opening, where the widening of the end piece is produced by means of a rolling method.
Abstract:
An enhanced automatic riveting system of the type used in robotized precision facilities to perform multiple functions, such as boring, reaming, rivet insertion, riveting, cleaning, etc. at a single work point, using the same equipment, characterized by the fact that it uses a multi-tool head, which does not move itself but is fixed on a parallel kinematic machine, which carries out all the combined positioning movements of the multi-tool head, performing the relevant position corrections between the different physical locations of the separate tools placed in the tool-holder head.
Abstract:
A rivet setter which can efficiently and smoothly perform the rivet setting operation even when setting rivets each having a shank of its length smaller than a diameter of its head. The rivet setter can be configured to set a rivet sequentially fed one by one from a rivet supplying means by inserting the rivet into apertures formed at predetermined positions on workpieces. The rivet setter can comprise delivery paths for delivering the rivet one by one by forcing the rivet to be slid down to a settable position. The rivet setter can include notches formed on the bottom surfaces of the delivery paths along the rivet delivery direction and extending to the settable position for supporting the head of the rivet in the course of delivery of the rivet on the delivery paths and for hanging the shank of the rivet downward.
