Abstract: In one embodiment, a method comprises first causing, by a controller device, wireless access points (APs) to allocate first non-interfering wireless channels for a prescribed reliable data service for wireless client devices in a WLAN; second causing the wireless APs to allocate a second shared channel having a bandwidth that is greater than the corresponding bandwidth of any of the first non-interfering wireless channels; allocating for each wireless client device a corresponding location service interval on the second shared channel for transmission of at least a corresponding identifiable wireless data unit for locating the corresponding wireless client device between two or more of the wireless APs; and determining a location of at least one of the wireless client devices based on reception of at least the corresponding wireless data unit between the one wireless client device and the two or more wireless APs during the corresponding location service interval.

Abstract: Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) Quality of Service (QoS) in overlapped administrative domains may be provided. A first Access Point (AP) may detect at least a second AP in a Co-Channel Interference (CCI) range. A micro-transaction auction between the first AP and at least the second AP may be established, and the first AP may provide compensation to second AP to acquire an agreement, from the second AP, to forgo transmitting during an upcoming service period. Next, the first AP may schedule transmissions for the service period and then transmit in the service period without interference from the second AP.

Abstract: Embodiments herein describe a group of APs that uses a shared radar cache to select a new channel after vacating a current channel when performing dynamic frequency selection (DFS). The group of APs can set aside memory to store status information about the DFS channels in the frequency band. For example, when one AP detects a radar event (and has to vacate a DFS channel), the AP updates an entry for that channel in the shared radar cache. The APs can also query the cache to determine a new channel after vacating its current channel. That is, the shared radar cache may store the most recent radar events occurring in a channel. In this manner, the APs can select a new channel that has little or no recent radar events, which reduces the likelihood the AP will have to vacate the new channel.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a technique for automatic classification and enforcement of low-bandwidth 20 MHz-only Internet of Things (IoT) devices is provided. An access point in communication with a plurality of devices may classify one or more client devices of the plurality as low-bandwidth or 20 MHz-only devices. The access point may allocate a subset of resource units (RUs) in a channel (e.g., a 20 MHz-wide channel) to the one or more client devices. The access point may then exchange data with the one or more client devices using the subset of RUs.

Abstract: Mitigation of active link alternation by multi-link devices (MLDs) may be provided. First, at least first and second links may be established between an Access Point (AP) MLD and an associated MLD client. The first link may be active, while the second link may be inactive. A set of traffic load data associated with the links may be collected before and after transmission of a Basic Service Set (BSS) load report to the MLD client. The report may include a traffic load on the second link prior to transmission, where the second link is less loaded than the first link. Based on the collected traffic load data, an active link alternation from the first to the second link by the MLD client responsive to receiving the report may be detected. One or more methods for BSS load report management may then be applied to mitigate future active link alternation.

Abstract: In dense Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) deployments, Access Points (APs) in other Extended Service Sets (ESSs) can be hidden (a first AP does not receive signals from a third AP). However, these APs in other ESSs can still interfere with communications between the third AP and the devices communicating with the first AP. To improve service to that device in that situation, the first AP needs information about the third AP in the first AP's decision making processes. In these situations, a second AP, in contact with the third AP, can share information about the third AP with the first AP so that the first AP can avoid colliding with the third AP.

Abstract: Seamless client roaming for Multi-Link Device (MLD) clients may be provided. First, a Traffic Identifier (TID)-to-link map may be established by an Upper Service Access Point (U-SAP) of a multi-AP MLD entity that assigns subsets of TIDs to at least two links of the entity. For example, a client device logically associates with the U-SAP, while the client device physically connects to a first and second AP of the entity on a respective first and second link, where the first and second AP include first and second Lower Service Access Points (L-SAPs) and are non-collocated. Next, using the map, data received at the U-SAP is directed over one of the two links for transmission to the client device. Further, frame aggregation and block acknowledgment functions may be performed by one of the first or second L-SAP based on whether data transmission is over the first or second link.
