Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication at a station. The station identifies a first set of enhanced distributed channel access (EDCA) parameters for a first access category based at least in part on a first traffic type and a determination that a multiple user (MU) frame is to be transmitted, and contends to gain access for a transmission opportunity over a shared radio frequency spectrum band to communicate with a plurality of other stations in a MU mode. The contention is based at least in part on the first set of EDCA parameters.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for selecting a type of block acknowledgement. An apparatus for wireless communications is provided herein. The apparatus generally includes a processing system configured to participate in a session with another apparatus during which the apparatus receives a plurality of MAC protocol data units (MPDUs) transmitted from the other apparatus during a window and select between a null data packet (NDP) BlockAck or a block acknowledgement (BA) frame for acknowledging which of the MPDUs have been successfully received by the apparatus. The apparatus generally also includes a transmitter configured to acknowledge which of the MPDUs have been successfully received by the apparatus in accordance with the selection.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for multiple users sharing common wireless resources are disclosed. A method includes receiving a frame from one or more wireless devices on one or more channels selected from a set of wireless channels. The frame includes a pre-association identifier.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A wireless device may identify an upcoming interference period, determine a receive end time based on when the interference period will begin to disrupt incoming messages, and transmit a scheduling outlook message to a transmitter to schedule around the interference in response to receiving a packet (request-to-send (RTS) or data). The wireless device may hash a receiver address (RA) associated with the packet exchange message such as a clear-to-send message or a block acknowledgement to make room for the scheduling outlook message. An example scheduling outlook field (in the place of the full RA field) may include a shortened RA, a number of supported spatial streams, a supported bandwidth, a set of tone allocation units (TAUs), a receive end time (or receive duration), and an interference level.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are disclosed that may provide for selective multi-user uplink (UL) of data for wireless devices. For example, a first wireless device may request permission to initiate a UL transmission to a second wireless device. The first wireless device may then receive, from the second wireless device, permission to initiate the UL transmission according to a multi-user (MU) UL protocol, determine a threshold duration for the UL transmission, and transmit UL data to the second wireless device according to the MU UL protocol and the threshold duration.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. An example wireless communication device may receive at least a portion of a data frame from another wireless communication device via a first or primary channel. The example wireless communication device may transmit a first acknowledgement message via a second or alternate channel, different from the first or primary channel, in response to the received data frame. In another example, an example wireless communication device may transmit a data frame via a first or primary channel. The wireless communication device may receive an acknowledgement message via a second or alternate channel, different from the first or primary channel in response to the data frame from another wireless communication device.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for multiple user uplink are provided. In one aspect, method for wireless communication includes receiving an assignment of a frequency bandwidth for an uplink transmission of a station. The method further includes determining whether a portion of the assigned frequency bandwidth is unavailable for the uplink transmission. The method further includes selectively transmitting the uplink transmission based on whether the portion of the assigned frequency bandwidth is unavailable.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for multiple user uplink are provided. In one aspect, a method of wireless communication is provided. The method includes transmitting a scheduling message to one or more stations. The scheduling message requests the one or more stations to transmit a station information message in response to the scheduling message. The method further includes receiving a plurality of station information messages. The station information messages indicates station information. The method further includes transmitting a media access control multi user (MAC MU) scheduling message to two or more stations. The MAC MU scheduling message is included in a payload portion of a physical layer data unit (PPDU) and indicates an uplink transmission opportunity and requests the two or more stations to concurrently transmit uplink data at a specific time.
Abstract:
A method includes generating a data packet at a source device for transmission via an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers 802.11 wireless network. The data packet includes multiple data symbols that are duplicated in the data packet. At least a portion of a preamble of the data packet is not duplicated in the data packet. The portion of the preamble indicates that the packet is a low rate mode packet. The method also includes transmitting the data packet from the source device to a destination device via the wireless network.
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate generally to wireless communications, and more specifically to systems, methods, and devices for staggered primary channel selection for WiFi. According to certain aspects, a method for wireless communications is provided. The method may be performed, for example, by an access point (AP). The method generally includes obtaining information regarding neighbor basic service sets (BSSs), selecting a primary channel based on the obtained information, and output for transmission a message signaling an intention to communicate using the selected primary channel.
