Abstract:
A method for establishing connection is provided. The method includes following steps. A call is established between a first mobile device and a second mobile device. A connection-assisting item is shown on the first mobile device. When the connection-assisting item is selected, the first mobile device sends a first text message having a first format to the second mobile device. An agree-to-establish-connection item is shown on the second mobile device. When the agree-to-establish-connection item is selected, the second mobile device is connected to a server through which the first mobile device further establishes a connection with the second mobile device.
Abstract:
A telecommunications system for use in a secure facility such as a jail, prison or the like. The systems, devices and methods disclosed provide telecommunications, email, other messaging, financial services, vending, and a commissary or canteen services for inmates of a secure facility with respect to family, friends and others. The system includes a phone server adapted to be communicatively connected to an external service provider; a monitoring station communicatively connected to the phone server; an account manager server communicatively connected to the phone server, and at least one telecommunications device disposed at the secure facility for use by the inmate and which is communicatively connected to the phone server. A method of telecommunicating, including receiving incomming calls at the secure facility, via the system is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a control method for a display apparatus and a mobile terminal which includes a camera for taking a photograph and generating an image; a voice input unit which is used to input a voice; a user input unit which receives a user's input; a display unit which displays the image thereon; a wireless communication unit which communicates with a counterpart mobile terminal through a wireless network; and a controller which performs a video call by transmitting to the counterpart mobile terminal video call data comprising a video generated by the camera and a voice input by the voice input unit according user input, displays on the display unit a shared image during the video call, and transmits to the counterpart mobile terminal the shared image added to the video call data.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to systems and methods for the collection and sharing of surveillance data. This includes capturing video and audio data on a device, and providing this data to an operations center for additional analysis and/or sharing with other parties. Those other parties may notably include first responders, judicial entities, and auditing groups. In some cases, such as with first responders, the data may be shared in real time in order to improve operations and safety. The initialization of the data capture may be initiated by a user of the device capturing the data, via a dispatcher request, by request of the first responder, or by a peer device. Additional metadata gained from sensors or video frame signatures may be used for detecting tampering.
Abstract:
The disclosure pertains to a communication system for effecting a voice or video call between at least a source user speaking a source language and a target user speaking a target language. A translation procedure is performed on call audio of the call to generate an audio translation of the source user's speech in the target language for outputting to the target user. A notification is outputted to the target user to notify the target user of a change in the behavior of the translation procedure, the change relating to the generation of the translation.
Abstract:
A method(s) and system(s) through which non-voice interactions or activities can be routed through existing systems presently utilized for voice (or telephone call) routing.
Abstract:
A video endpoint and related methods are disclosed. A video endpoint includes a control circuit configured to provide a user interface configured to enable a user to communicate with another user of another video endpoint with text during video communications with the other user. The user interface is also configured to enable the user to select from text strings stored in a database. A method of operating the video endpoint includes transmitting data corresponding to a selected one of the text strings stored in the database to the other video endpoint during the video communications responsive to the user selecting the selected one of the text strings. A method of transforming a computing device into a video endpoint includes storing computer-readable instructions directed to performing the functions of the control circuit on one or more servers, and transmitting the computer-readable instructions to the computing device.
Abstract:
A communication filtering system comprising an authorization module and a management module. The authorization module is configured to selectively authorize an incoming call according to media content rendered by a media renderer. The management module is configured to manage filtering of multiple incoming calls directed to a telephony system according to the selective authorizations of the multiple incoming calls by the authorization module.
Abstract:
Communication systems, video endpoints, and related methods are described. A video endpoint is configured to receive commands corresponding to functions of the video endpoint from a mobile electronic device responsive to a user interacting with a remote control interface of the mobile electronic device. The functions include in-call functions. A method includes performing the functions responsive to receiving the commands from the mobile electronic device. A method of transforming a mobile electronic device into a remote control device for the video endpoint includes storing computer-readable instructions at one or more servers. The computer-readable instructions are configured to instruct the mobile electronic device to provide the remote control interface and transmit the commands to the video endpoint. A communication system includes a software distribution server including a data storage device including the computer-readable instructions, and one or more communication elements configured to transmit the computer-readable instructions to the mobile electronic device.
Abstract:
A call manager is configured to establish an initial session between an agent and a user. A play request or a hold request from an agent device includes a video index value based on information from the user. The call manager interrupts the initial session between the agent device and the user device in response to the request and sends an invite message including the video index value to a media server. The media server accesses a video database based on the video index value for a video and establishes a communication session with the client endpoint device. The communication session includes a stream of the video from the video database.
