摘要: An apparatus is provided which makes a border wire having a rectangular cross-section. The apparatus is adapted to receive a roll of wire having a circular cross-section, straighten the wire and change the cross-section of the wire to rectangular. The reconfigured wire is then accumulated, passed through another straightener, cut to size and then bent into a rectangular configuration. Opposed ends of the piece of wire having a rectangular cross-section are welded together to complete the border wire. The apparatus has an ejector which removes the completed border wire from the apparatus.

The steps of preheating the stock (5, 16, 22) in a first induction furnace (6) so that the preheated stock enters a subsequent descaling apparatus (7) with a surface temperature of T1≧1000° C.; descaling the preheated stock by a plurality of water jets in a descaling apparatus (7); direct subsequent heating of the descaled stock in a second induction furnace (8), where the descaled stock enters the second induction furnace (8) at a temperature T2 which is ≧Tcurie of the stock and heating in the second induction furnace 8 is either in a largely inert or largely reducing protective gas atmosphere; passing the heated stock in a rolling mill (9), where the heated stock enters the rolling mill (9) at a temperature 1220° C.≧T3 1050° C.

摘要: Systems which may be employed to adjust the shape of a computer housing are provided. The systems may include a measurement apparatus that measures the positions of points on the housing. A determining apparatus may determine an offset between the position of the points and reference values. An adjustment apparatus may apply force to the computer housing with actuators based on the offset at each of the points. This process may be repeated or otherwise continued until the offset is within a predetermined range of acceptable values. Related methods, assemblies, and a non-transitory computer readable medium are also provided.

The strip processing cartridge is mounted on a bearing region on one or more rockers on a frame. The bearing region is open for insertion or removal of the strip processing cartridge sideways and/or upwards out of the frame. A fixing mechanism fixes the strip processing cartridge on the bearing region.

摘要: Profiles (50) are formed in a production line with a cross-section that varies along their length from a plane metal strip (10) that is unwound from a tape reel (9). Edge cutters (14) and roll-forming units (17-24) are displaceable individually sideways relative to the strip, and are individually controlled. The formed profile is curved in a curving station integrated into the production line and having roller pairs (82, 84; 83, 85) that can be controlled to roll sides of the profile (50) such that they become thinner so that the profile is curved or twisted as it is formed. The roller pairs and the sideways displacement and the angular motion of the roll-forming units are controlled so that the roller pairs follow the sides and such that a line (II) between the axles of one roller pair is held perpendicular to the surface being rolled.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a wheel rim for a vehicle includes an ironing step for ironing a tubular material to manufacture a tubular member having a non-constant thickness, using an ironing apparatus provided with a punch, a die whose side surface opposing the punch is a convex and concave surface, and a pressing member. At the ironing step, a flange portion of the tubular material is set at the die, then the pressing member is moved relative to the die thereby to squeeze the flange portion of the tubular material by the pressing member and the die, and then the punch is moved relative to the die to iron at least a portion of the tubular material except the flange portion of the tubular material to manufacture the tubular member having a non-constant thickness.

摘要: A method of recycling a one-piece rail having a base portion and a head portion spaced from each other by a substantially flat web portion. The steps include: heating the rail to a plastic state; feeding the heated rail through a first reduction pass to reduce a cross section of the rail without slitting the rail; feeding the rod through a second reduction pass in which the cross section of the rod is further modified and then slitting the rod along the web portion into two rod pieces, one containing the former head portion and one containing the former base portion, as the rod leaves the second reduction pass; and rolling the two rod pieces, in a single pass line, through a series of reduction passes to produce a desired final cross section of the pieces.
