Abstract: A system having a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receiver having a GNSS receiver battery receptacle for housing a battery therein, and a handheld receptacle which has an insertion portion which is shaped as an outer portion of the battery and which is adapted for insertion into the battery receptacle of the GNSS receiver instead of the battery, wherein the handheld receptacle has a handheld receptacle battery receptacle to receive the battery therein. The battery can be swapped from the GNSS receiver and the handheld receptacle. A socket can be provided on the handheld receptacle for mounting a computing device thereon in communication with the GNSS receiver. A pole-mount adapter can be used for connecting the GNSS receiver onto a pole below the GNSS battery receptacle and can be mounted and dismounted even when the handheld receptacle is inserted in the GNSS receiver.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, by a tracking server, an indication from a first computing device that a tracking device status associated with a tracking device has changed. The method includes accessing a first set of locations associated with the tracking device when it was connected to a second computing device and a second set of locations associated with the tracking device when it was not connected to the second computing device. The method includes providing the first set of locations and the second set of locations to the first computing device for display. The first set of locations and the second set of locations are displayed within a map interface and each location of the first set of locations is visually distinct from each location of the second set of locations.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for nanosatellite-based property monitoring are disclosed. A method includes receiving satellite data related to conditions of a property monitored by a monitoring system; determining, based on the satellite data, that the property is at risk from a threat; requesting, from a sensor of the monitoring system, sensor data related to the threat; receiving, from the sensor, the sensor data related to the threat; and based on analyzing the sensor data related to the threat, performing one or more monitoring system actions. The threat may include one of a weather hazard, a security hazard, or a property damage hazard. The monitoring system actions can include sending an instruction to adjust a sensor or component of the monitoring system and can include sending, to a user device, a notification that the property is at risk from the threat.

Abstract: A system includes a vehicle cover, a mechanical tensioning device, a memory device, storing instructions, and one or more processors configured to execute instructions to perform the steps of a method to secure a vehicle. The mechanical tensioning device may include attachment means to attach the device to a wheel of the vehicle and means to attach a security cable of the vehicle cover integrated into a bottom edge of the vehicle cover to the mechanical tensioning device. The mechanical tensioning device may include a rotational reel connected to either a tensioning motor or a tensioning crank and optionally including either a mechanical bi-stable device or one or more sensors configured to monitor the tension of the security cable when engaged to the mechanical tensioning device. The processor may monitor for a change in tension and execute one or more security measures in response.

Abstract: A system for tagging and tracking assets anywhere in the world under any environmental condition. Geo-Referencing Identification (GRID) tag, GRID satellite (GRIDSAT) tag and associated cloud infrastructure and user interface meet the objectives of a robust global tagging and tracking system. The GRID tag can be used to identify pieces of equipment or storage containers for low-value or aggregate equipment. GRID tags communicate with each other using a mesh radio in each tag. The GRIDSAT tag consists of a satellite modem, global positioning system (GPS) receiver, and mesh radio and can be used by itself for high-value items, large shipping containers, or vehicles and vessels to track and locate them, or used in concert with GRID tags that communicate with each other and with the GRIDSAT tag by means of mesh radio.

Abstract: An approach is disclosed that receives a wireless request from a proximity key that is used to access a vehicle. The wireless request includes a key-GPS that is a set of Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) coordinates that correspond to the proximity key. A vehicle-GPS is retrieved at the vehicle with the vehicle-GPS being a set of GPS coordinates that correspond to the vehicle. A distance between the proximity key and the vehicle based is calculated on a difference between the key-GPS and the vehicle-GPS. The approach then determines whether to perform the request based on the calculated distance.

The communication device of a user of the identification system is configured to receive data including location data of the identification device from the server using short message service protocols or messages through a signaling channel.
