    摘要: An absorbent-body manufacturing apparatus manufactures an absorbent body by depositing absorbent-body material in a plurality of recess sections spaced at an arrangement pitch on an outer circumferential face of a drum. The apparatus has a driving source that drives the drum in synchronization with another apparatus based on a synchronization signal. First and second signal-generating sections repeatedly generate first and second rotational-angle signals based on a rotation of the drum with a rotational angle of the drum as a unit, the rotational angle of the drum corresponding to first and second pitches, respectively. Depending on whether the arrangement pitch is set to the first or second pitch, a controller controls rotational driving operation of the driving source based on the first or second rotational-angle signal and on the synchronization signal.

    摘要: An apparatus for compressing a material includes a central longitudinal axis, a plurality of levers each having a tool carrier and defining a lever longitudinal axis, and a plurality of jaws each attached to a lever at a tool carrier to form a lever/jaw combination, wherein each jaw has a compression surface having an area. The apparatus also includes a compressing mechanism configured to move each lever in a non-linear motion such that the area of a compression surface exposed to the material decreases with the inward movement of that compression surface, wherein each lever/jaw combination includes a biasing mechanism configured such that adjacent jaws contact each other. The plane of each compression surface can be predominantly tangential to the apparatus central longitudinal axis. Each biasing mechanism can be configured to bias its jaw along the lever longitudinal axis toward an adjacent jaw.

    摘要: An absorbent structure comprising a planar substrate, an auxiliary glue applied on the substrate, an absorbent material comprising from 80% to 100% by weight of superabsorbent particles deposited on the substrate on an absorbent material deposition area comprising a pattern of absorbent material land areas separated by absorbent material-free junction areas, wherein the deposition area can be notionally divided in eight deposition zones of equal length along the longitudinal direction. A fibrous thermoplastic adhesive layer immobilizes at least some of the absorbent material. The absorbent material is profiled along the longitudinal direction so that at least one of the eight deposition zones is a zone of lower absorbent material amount and the auxiliary glue is absent, or present at a level of at least 50% by weight lower than the average amount of auxiliary glue in at least one of these zones of lower absorbent material amount.
