Abstract:
An underpants-type disposable diaper has a display sheet containing a resin film between an inner member and at least one of a front side outer member and a back side outer member. A cover nonwoven fabric is provided with a plurality of holes having intervals and penetrating a front and a back is interposed from at least a crotch side edge of an outer member overlapping the display sheet to a side of a waist opening between the display sheet and a liquid impervious sheet. An internal surface and an external surface of the cover nonwoven fabric are bonded to facing surfaces, respectively, through a hot melt adhesive. Compatibility between prevention of deterioration of appearance of the display sheet and prevention of a decrease in air permeability is achieved.
Abstract:
Disclosed are devices and methods using the devices for collecting biological and other specimens or substances from surfaces being interrogated for such contamination. Particular device aspects comprise a handle, with a frame at one end receptive to insertion and removal of a sampling medium (collecting member) intended for wiping against a surface, with the sampling member being held in place by passive projections from the frame without the need for the use of glue or articulating or moving parts. The Frame and/or the collecting member may also comprise at least one attached or integral scraping member or surface for breaking biofilms and thus making the microbes or other substances more available to being sampled by the collecting member.
Abstract:
An array of absorbent articles includes a first absorbent article comprising a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet, and a first ear laminate having a first plurality of ultrasonic bonds disposed in a first elasticized region. The array further includes a second absorbent article comprising a topsheet, a backsheet and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet, and a second ear laminate having a second plurality of ultrasonic bonds disposed in a second elasticized region. The first ear laminate differs from the second ear laminate at least in extensibility, bond pattern, softness and/or tensile strength.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of providing a disposable product with a contoured leg opening. In this method at least one chip is removed from at least one ear of a disposable product. The chip may be removed from an ear prior to attaching the ear to the chassis web. Alternatively, the chip may be removed from the ear after the ear is attached to the chassis web.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a disposable article having a longitudinal direction, a longitudinal center line and a transverse direction, wherein the article has a first and a second longitudinal edge, a first and a second transverse edge, wherein the article comprises a first covering layer comprising a first surface intended to face towards the user and a second surface intended to face away from the user in use, wherein at least a first and a second fixing member comprising hook elements are arranged on the first surface close to the first transverse edge, wherein the first fixing member is arranged close to the first longitudinal edge and the second fixing member is arranged close to the second longitudinal edge, wherein substantial parts of the first surface are compatible with the hook elements.
Abstract:
An elastic laminate is made by first coextruding a film having an elastic outer film layer formed of a styrene-block copolymer and an inner film layer of lesser elasticity than the outer layer. An outer fleece web with an outer adhesive layer is then adhered to the outer film layer, and an inner fleece web with an inner adhesive layer is adhered to the inner film layer so as to form between the inner fleece web and the inner film layer a bond that is weaker than a bond formed by the outer adhesive layer between the outer fleece web and the outer film layer. Thereafter the coextruded film bonded by the inner and outer adhesive layers to the outer and inner fleece webs is prestretched such that the weak bond formed by the inner adhesive layer separates only locally from the inner film layer but the bond formed by the outer adhesive layer remains intact.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a planar pad manufactured from three layers, each layer made from materials of differing properties. A contact layer being safe for a neonatal infant's skin is the top layer. The middle layer is an absorption layer positioned immediately below the contact layer. The absorption layer is of a two-part construction having a first half and a corresponding second half which abuts the first half. The absorption layer is operable for dispersing and containing fluids within the pad. The bottom layer is a waterproof barrier layer which is posited directly below the absorbency layer, preferably constructed of flashspun high-density polyethylene, and is also a two part construction. An internal pull tab maintains the pad in a single assembly. Upon removing the pull tab, the pad assembly splits into two separate assembly halves.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a breast wrap for absorbing fluid secreted from a wearer's breasts. In one embodiment the breast wrap comprises a panel of material, means for fastening the panel in a continuous band, one or more absorbent regions on a first side of the panel, and first and second adjustment means independently operable to adjust the tightness of the band along first and second adjustment regions proximate the top and bottom of the band respectively. In use, the wrap is configured to wrap around a wearer's chest and substantially cover the wearer's breasts with the one or more absorbent regions covering the wearer's nipples and the first and second adjustment regions positioned above and below the wearer's breasts respectively. In another embodiment, the breast wrap comprises one or more absorbent panels removably attached to a first side of the first panel and, in use, the one or more absorbent panels cover the wearer's nipples.
Abstract:
A laminate for making a flexible fastener. The laminate has according to the invention outer layers of nonwoven and parallel and spaced strips of an elastic film laminated between the outer layers. The outer layers are directly bonded to each other in regions between the elastic strips and there form inelastic regions of the laminate while regions each containing one of the strips form elastic regions. At least one of the outer layers is a sheer nonwoven. A color or pattern imprint is printed on the one outer layer over the elastic and inelastic regions.
Abstract:
A textile web from which elastically stretchable diaper closures can be stamped is made by first passing a pair of nonwoven textile webs longitudinally through a first laminating station at a predetermined first speed and inserting a plurality of longitudinally extending and transversely spaced strips of an elastic polymer between the webs at the first laminating station. This laminates the webs and strips together into an intermediate laminate having longitudinally extending zones where the webs are directly laminated to each other alternating with longitudinally extending stretch zones where the elastic strips are laminated between the webs. This intermediate laminate then passes through a second lamination station downstream of the first lamination station at a predetermined second speed smaller than the first predetermined speed. In the second lamination station respective inelastic strips are adhered to opposite faces of the intermediate laminate in the zones between the stretch zones.
