摘要: An anti-theft device for protecting air brake control valves from being manipulated is disclosed. A clamp assembly locks on to the valve knobs employed to release the air brakes in a vehicle. A pair of blocks incorporate a key lock assembly and posts to enable portable use of the device. This device is readily adaptable to lock more than one type of several standard brake valve knob sizes by utilizing removable inserts. Impact-resistant plastic or metallic compositions may form the bodies.

摘要: An improved motor vehicle brake-pedal locking device (10) that mechanically maintains the vehicle brake-pedal (60) in a depressed position to prevent the vehicle from being driven. The device includes a horizontally and vertically pivoting brake-pedal swing-arm interfacing structure (12) that is disclosed in two designs. Both designs include a channel (12A),(38C) that engages the brake-pedal swing-arm (62). To the back end (18B),(34B) of the structure (12) is attached the back end (50B of a locking tube (50). Inserted into this locking tube (50), is a locking rod (52) having attached to its back end (52B) a forked section (56A) that attaches to a vehicle seat (64). The device is installed by placing the structure (12) over the swing-arm (62) and the forked section (56A) secured to the seat (64). The device (10) is then depressed to place the brake-pedal (60) in a depressed position in which position the device is locked in place.

摘要: An apparatus for actuating a hydraulic brake has a housing with a cavity communicating with an input and an output for hydraulic fluid. The housing is adapted to be positioned between a master cylinder and a wheel cylinder in a vehicle hydraulic brake system. The cavity receives a valve apparatus in the form of a sleeve and a piston for opening and closing to control a flow of hydraulic fluid. The cavity also receives a seat, and the seat movably receives a transmission assembly that communicates with the valve apparatus. A driving system drives the transmission assembly to actuate the valve apparatus. A control circuit receives a code from a user to activate the driving system. A measuring device determines a duration of activation of the driving system. The valve is open during normal operation of the vehicle. To lock the brakes for security, the code is entered and if correct, the valve closes, thereby acting as a check valve. Hydraulic medium is forced through the valve to the wheel cylinders. The hydraulic medium is prevented from flowing back through the valve, thereby locking the brakes.

摘要: This invention relates to improvements made to an anti-theft device for conventional motor vehicles and the method by which the device is made, which device secures the hand brake lever to the gear shift lever. A device is already known, which is made up of two limbs which are pivotally connected together. This invention adds an additional improvement which allows for further rotation of the limbs on an additional axis and further adds an expanded bore in the clamping arm which permits the device to fit a wide range of automobiles. As well the device itself and the method by which it is constructed have also been improved to eliminate virtually all welding except in the area of the locking element.

摘要: A vehicle brake system, with the usual arrangement of a power booster axially aligned with the brake master cylinder piston and engaged between it and the brake pedal, has a fluid pressure differential-operated actuator offset from the conjoint axis of the power booster and the master cylinder piston. The actuator is coupled to the master cylinder piston through a mechanical linkage which provides a substantial mechanical advantage. The actuator causes the brakes to be applied independent of the brake pedal in response to any of several sensed conditions which dictate that the vehicle should not be moving.

摘要: The invention relates to an antitheft device for trailers and semitrailers comprising a threaded rod which can be screwed in a block integral to a fixed portion of the trailer or semitrailer and having one end thereof idly engaged in a body integral to a linkage leading to the levers which actuate the brakes of an axle of the trailer or semitrailer. By screwing or unscrewing the threaded rod in said block it is possible to achieve the locking or the releasing of brakes. When brakes are in their locking position, acting on a latch control member operable by means of a key it is possible to engage one end of the latch within an annular groove formed in the threaded rod, so that the latter is prevented from moving axially. During this stage the other end of the latch acts on a non-return valve connected to the service brake circuit in order to allow the brake fluid to flow in one direction only.

摘要: Electrovalves are opened in automobile piping of a brake line, a clutch line and a fuel line by a current through normally open contacts of a plurality of control relays and through normally closed contacts of an interlocking relay. The control relays are operated by selected switches of a plurality of push-button switches while the interlocking relay is operated by the non-selected switches of the plurality of switches. The control relays are interconnected so that the selected push-button switches must be operated in a selected sequence. All the relays have holding circuits.
