The method includes detecting the vehicle is in a standby mode at a standstill following installing of the vehicle on a transport support, detecting a non-zero vehicle speed through the speed sensors of at least two wheels over a defined period, detecting a non-zero yaw speed through the yaw speed sensor, over a predefined period, and under these conditions determining a mode whereby immobilization of the vehicle for transport is monitored, in which mode information from at least the wheel speed sensors is filtered after a determined number of attempts at immobilizing the vehicle and allowing the vehicle to be fired up.

A hook with claws for engaging a stanchion includes a palm with a locking tab having a locking bar receiving opening. The palm is insertable through one of the complimentary openings provided in each of the two side walls of the housing. At least one interior tab with a locking bar receiving opening is provided in the housing and when the locking rod of a puck lock engages the openings in the locking tabs, the cross bar structure prevents an unlocking rotation of the stanchion.

A portable, universal, anti-theft device having inner and outer tubular housings mounted together telescopically. Both housings have open front, axial ends and the rear end of the outer housing is closed. Opposite wall portions of inner and outer housings are formed with pairs of intersecting camming slots receiving locking pins. A locking handle on one housing can move the housings in opposite axial directions to cam the locking pins between an open, gas pedal inserting position, in which the locking pins are cammed apart, permitting the open front end of the housing assembly to be advanced, in enclosing relation, over the gas pedal by the gas pedal passing between and behind the pins and, a closed, gas pedal immobilizing and concealing position in which the pins are cammed together engaging in front of the gas pedal, immobilizing and concealing the gas pedal wholly within the housing assembly.

The arm has an opening therethrough. A rod is slidably disposed within the opening. The rod has a generally J-shaped end for receiving the pedal shaft. The rod is slidable within the arm so that the J-shaped end is movable between a raised position where the pedal cannot be depressed, and a retracted position, wherein the J-shaped end and is spaced from the clutch or brake pedal shaft. A locking mechanism is operably connected to the rod to fix the J-shaped end in at least the raised position.

A vehicle highly visible, convenient locking apparatus which locks all four wheels of a vehicle to prevent it from being driven or towed is disclosed. The apparatus which holds a brake pedal having a leg, close to a floor of a vehicle comprises: a mountable base having a lower side portion and an opposite side portion; and, a longitudinal member having a bottom end portion adapted to releasably engage in the opposite side portion of the base; a peddle holding/lock member carried by the longitudinal member. In use the base is mounted on the floor of the vehicle, beneath the brake pedal; the longitudinal member is releasably engaged in the base; the peddle is depressed, engaging the brakes; and the peddle holding/lock member is locked on the longitudinal member thereby holding the brake pedal in an engaged position and generally preventing the longitudinal member from turning.
