Abstract:
A storm grate locking device and method of use with a lock body. The lock body has at least one hook arm engaged with a latch assembly, a security flange nut engaged with the latch assembly, and a deep well socket. When the lock body is placed into the recessed area of a storm grate; and the hook arm engaged with the latch assembly may be extended to extend under the storm grate thereby preventing removal of the storm grate by rotating the security flange nut.
Abstract:
A locking utility pull box lid device is provided. The device includes a lid and two locking members that are rotatably coupled to a bottom surface of the lid. An actuator bolt extends through each lid aperture and each bolt engages an engagement plate of one locking member. The rotation of the bolt moves the bolt axially and in response, the locking member is rotated between a locked and unlocked position.
Abstract:
A locking cover plate can be selectively locked in position on a stortz pipe end fitting or can be unlocked and removed for access to the open pipe end. The cover plate includes a sliding plate that is driven laterally outward into a deployed state by rotating a drive bolt. The drive bolt is coupled to the sliding plate through a torque limiting coupling that transfers the rotation of the drive bolt to translating movement of the latch bar with a cam plate. Movement of the sliding plate is indicated through a front of the cover plate such that the user can identify whether the cover plate is locked on a fitting or simply placed on the fitting without the lock engaged.
Abstract:
A tamper-resistant pill bottle for securely storing a quantity of medication. The pill bottle includes a receptacle, a cap for fitting over the receptacle, and a combination lock integral with the cap for releasably locking the cap to the receptacle. The combination lock includes a series of combination wheels that partially protrude through a sidewall of the cap and can be rotatably manipulated by a user. The combination for the combination lock can be set by a user upon receipt of the pill bottle. The pill bottle further includes an inconspicuous defeat mechanism integral with the cap for allowing the pill bottle to be opened, preferably by a pharmacist, if a user forgets the combination of the combination lock.
Abstract:
A security cover for an automatic gate arm protects against disengagement and removal of the gate arm for the purpose of unauthorized entry through the gate. The security cover comprises four walls and a top plate joined to form a housing that encloses a rotating turret and a portion of a drive arm used to actuate the gate. The security cover mounts over the turret using a vertical rod that extends from above the housing to a location within the drive mechanism of the gate arm motor, and a lock that secures the housing and prevents unauthorized tampering with the drive arm.
Abstract:
In certain embodiments, the present invention includes a method for protecting from unauthorized access one or more ports of a system integrated into a structure for injection of a material into one or more cavities in the structure. The method includes coupling a base to the structure, the base including the one or more ports for injection of the material into the one or more cavities in the structure and one or more slots. The method further includes removably coupling a cover to the base to prevent unauthorized access to the one or more ports, the cover comprising one or more tabs each adapted to engage with a corresponding slot of the base. The cover is removably coupled to the base by positioning a locking mechanism for removably securing the cover to the base proximate a projection of the base and engaging the locking mechanism with the projection of the base to removably secure the one or more tabs of the cover in engagement with the one or more corresponding slots of the base to removably secure the cover to the base to prevent unauthorized access to the one or more ports.
Abstract:
To endow such a device, of the type with a bolt (1) actuated by a key (2), with a high level of tamper-proofing and security without compromising its simplicity and reliability, the device includes two bolt-guiding members (3, 4) carried by one of the two elements, and the bolt includes a key-inserting aperture (114), two guiding ramps (112, 113) cooperating with the guiding members, and a third guiding ramp (115) cooperating with the key (2) when the latter is inserted into the aperture (114), in order to selectively actuate the bolt (1) from a locking position to an unlocking position, and vice versa, by rotation of the key. Use: devices for closing roadway or footway manholes, or underground technical chambers.
Abstract:
A cover is provided, preferably for securing valves, propellers, door knobs and the like. The cover entails a hinged plate having two sections. Each section contains an indentation which, when the sections are closed, forms an aperture. A pair of arms may depend from each section in alignment with the indentations. When the sections are closed, the arms will form a hollow column in alignment with the aperture. The hollow column will also preferably contain a constriction, preferably formed by a pair of lips extending inwardly from each arm. The sections will also contain sidewalls rising from the sections opposite the hollow column if it is present. A cap is provided which will fit over the sidewalls. A tongue and groove mechanism may be provided to allow the cap to engage the sidewalls and the sections to which they are attached. A plurality of locking apertures may also be provided in the sections and the cap so that the cover may be locked with a padlock. In use the aperture or constriction will close around a thin area on the object to be covered, such as the portion of a valve behind the locking nut, the portion of a propeller hub before its flared end, or the shaft of a door knob. The sidewalls will be sized to surround the object being covered, and the cap will fit over the sidewalls, thereby enclosing the object. If the cover, is locked, the object will then be secured.
Abstract:
A bezel assembly comprising a bezel plate having at least one elongated member projecting outwardly therefrom; a structural member having at least one opening extending therethrough; a lock plate having at least one opening extending therethrough; a catch member mounted on either the bezel plate or the lock plate; and a lock member mounted on the plate which does not have the catch member; the lock member being displaceably lockingly engageable with the catch member; the structural member being disposed between the bezel plate and the lock plate; the elongated member extending through the openings in the structural member and the lock plate.
Abstract:
Electronic access control of a seldom-used outdoor security enclosure, such as a key vault, is provided by a vault lid and key system whereby the procedure for opening the enclosure occurs in two stages. One stage is a low-force stage provided by electromechanical mechanisms housed within the lid and energized by a relatively low power source. The high-force stage is provided by a human operator applying manual force to open the lid. The system is particularly adapted for security enclosures that are exposed to an outdoor environment and not operated for extended periods of time.
