Abstract: A first communications device including a transmitter, such as a base station or UE, identifies a first packet flow for which end to end packet retransmission is supported. The first communications device assigns said first packet flow to a Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) process which does not require generation of acknowledgements (ACKs) or negative acknowledgements (NAKs) from a device receiving data corresponding to said first packet flow; and transmits data corresponding to said first packet flow to a second communications device. In some embodiments, the HARQ process to which the first packet flow is assigned is a dedicated HARQ suppression process. In some embodiments, the HARQ process to which the first packet flow is assigned is a HARQ process which has been temporarily designated as a HARQ suppression process. HARQ suppression is applied for the first packet flow at a radio link layer and/or MAC layer.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods for communication are generally described herein. The UE may receive downlink control information (DCI) that schedules a transport block (TB) that includes multiple code blocks. The UE may determine a transport block size (TBS) based on the DCI. The UE may attempt to decode the code blocks. The UE may, if the TBS is greater than a predetermined threshold: bundle the code blocks into code block groups for hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) acknowledgement; and transmit a HARQ bit per code block group. The UE may, if the TBS is less than or equal to the threshold, transmit a HARQ bit that indicates whether a decode failure has occurred for at least one of the code blocks of the TB.

Abstract: A method for mapping a physical hybrid automatic repeat request indicator channel (PHICH) is described. The method for mapping a PHICH includes determining an index of a resource element group transmitting a repetitive pattern of the PHICH, according to a ratio of the number of available resource element groups in a symbol in which the PHICH is transmitted and the number of available resource element groups in a first or second OFDM symbol, and mapping the PHICH to the symbol according to the determined index. In transmitting the PHICH, since efficient mapping is performed considering available resource elements varying with OFDM symbols, repetition of the PHICH does not generate interference between neighbor cell IDs and performance is improved.

Abstract: A method performed by a radio-network node for handling a data transmission from the radio-network node to a wireless device in a wireless communication network is provided. The radio-network node transmits (401) data over a number of subframes to the wireless device (10), and a respective control part, associated with the data of each respective subframe, the respective control part comprising a feedback index indicating a transmission time of a feedback indication. The radio-network node receives (402) from the wireless device the feedback indication in the feedback message common for the subframes of the data transmission according to the control parts of the transmitted subframes. The feedback indication indicates feedback for each subframe of the data transmission received and the number of NACKed subframes out of the number of subframes of the data transmission. The radio-network node receives the feedback message and then decides (403) whether or not to retransmit any of the subframes based on the feedback indication therein.

Abstract: Various communication systems may benefit from appropriate handling of reconfiguration. For example, certain wireless communication systems may benefit from lossless bearer reconfiguration when handling a transition from the user of a longer sequence number to a shorter sequence number. A method can include determining, by a protocol entity, if a next expected highest count value among count values associated with protocol data units received is more than a pre-defined limit ahead of a lowest count value among count values associated with protocol data units expected to be received. The method can also include resetting the next expected highest count value to a new value corresponding to a predefined upper limit, conditional on the determination.
