Abstract: Methods and apparatus provide for: capturing an image of an object, which includes a face of a person wearing an optical display apparatus by which to observe a stereoscopic image that contains a first parallax image and a second parallax image obtained when the object in a three-dimensional (3D) space is viewed from different viewpoints; identifying the optical display apparatus included in the image of the object; and generating an image of the face of the person that does not include the optical display apparatus by excluding the identified optical display apparatus, and instead by adding features of the face of the person to a region in which the identified optical display apparatus is excluded.

Abstract: A first estimating unit estimates at least one of a position and an attitude of a predetermined object on the basis of an image of a periphery of the object, the image being obtained from an imaging device, and generates an estimation result not including an accumulated error. A second estimating unit estimates at least one of the position and the attitude of the object on the basis of the image, and generates an estimation result including an accumulated error. A correcting unit compares the estimation result of the first estimating unit and the estimation result of the second estimating unit with each other, and corrects, on the basis of a result of the comparison, a subsequent estimation result of the second estimating unit, the subsequent estimation result being subsequent to the estimation result of the second estimating unit which estimation result is used for the comparison. An App executing unit performs predetermined data processing on the basis of the estimation result of the second estimating unit which estimation result is corrected by the correcting unit.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus 12 acquires RAW images 202a and 202b by left and right cameras and performs a demosaicing process for and stepwise reduction of the RAW images 202a and 202b to generate and correct colored image groups 204a and 204b which represent picked up images with a plurality of resolutions (S10 and S12). Image process parameters 206 acquired in the course of the demosaicing process and the correction process are transmitted to a host terminal 20 together with part of colored images and data of a partial image 208 of the RAW image 202a. The host terminal 20 utilizes the image process parameters 206 transmitted from the imaging apparatus 12 to perform a demosaicing process for the partial image 208 to generate and correct a colored image 212 (S16). The host terminal 20 utilizes the colored image transmitted from the imaging apparatus 12 and the colored image 212 generated therein to generate an image 214 to be displayed (S18 and S20).

Then, the head-mounted display corrects chromatic aberrations on the basis of actual distortion coefficients of the lens, and outputs the image to a display panel.

Abstract: A distance information generation apparatus obtains a measurement depth image that expresses a measurement result for a distance to an object and a color image captured at a corresponding field of view. The measurement depth image is upsampled by a predetermined technique to generate a candidate depth image. On the basis of a result of analyzing the color image, a reflection characteristic for the object, and information regarding a relative motion between an image capturing apparatus and the object, a reliability image, in which a reliability for a distance value expressed by the candidate depth image is set for each pixel, is generated. A distance value having a high reliability is read out for each pixel from the candidate depth image, whereby an output depth image is generated.
