Abstract: A plate assembly for a multi-disk brake system is provided. The plate assembly includes at least one of a pressure plate or an end plate and a floating plate wear liner mounted against the at least one of the pressure plate or the end plate. The floating plate wear liner is configured to contact a contact surface of an adjacent rotatable friction disk in response to the multi-disk brake system being actuated.

Abstract: A torque plate barrel for a braking system includes a torque tube having a first end and a second end spaced from the first end along a central axis. The torque tube has an inner surface and a pedestal. The pedestal has a foot portion disposed and sized for engagement with an axle and a head portion disposed and sized for engagement with the inner surface of the torque tube. The head portion of the pedestal includes a first radius of curvature defining a first surface facing toward the first end of the torque tube and a second radius of curvature defining a second surface facing toward the second end of the torque tube. The pedestal may include different cross sectional geometries extending circumferentially over different angular segments about the inner surface of the torque tube barrel.

Abstract: A hub unit has a brake disc and a hub body disposed to rotate with a rim on which a tire is mounted. An internal space is formed in the hub body, wherein the brake disc is fixed in the internal space. A fixed shaft is disposed and fixed along a rotation center shaft of the hub body. A brake shoe is coupled to the fixed shaft. A brake pad is disposed to contact the brake disc. A braking force applier supplies a braking force to the hub body wherein the brake pad and the brake disc are in contact with each other.

Abstract: A friction element assembly for a transmission of a motor vehicle includes a set of plates and friction members. A piston assembly is configured to apply a force to the set of plates and friction members. The friction element assembly also includes a housing with a mounting groove; a pressure plate having first and second edges; and a snap ring positioned in the mounting groove. The snap ring is positioned such that first edge of the pressure plate contacts the snap ring and the second edge of the pressure plate extends across a portion of the snap ring. The snap ring is L-shaped and includes a leg portion that contacts the second edge of the pressure plate when the piston assembly applies a force to the set of plates and friction members.

Abstract: A drive assembly has a drive motor at least in part contained in a housing and having a rotor rotating an output shaft. A selector mechanism is movable into one of a plurality of orientations corresponding to one of a plurality of drive motor settings. A brake assembly is configured to couple to the rotor of the drive motor and is moveable between a braked position in which the brake assembly impedes rotation of the rotor and a released position in which the brake assembly allows rotation of the rotor. An actuator is arranged in the housing to engage the brake assembly at least when the brake assembly is in the braked position and to engage the selector mechanism at least when the brake assembly is in the released position.

Abstract: A reduction gear case (29) of a planetary gear reduction mechanism (28) is mounted on a reduction gear mounting part (18C) of an axle tube (18). A carrier (33) is provided with a wheel mounting part (33B) projecting outside of the reduction gear case (29). A wheel (2) is mounted on the wheel mounting part (33B) and an oil seal (39) is disposed between an outer peripheral surface of the wheel mounting part (33B) and an inner peripheral surface of the front wheel (2) of the reduction gear case (29). As a result, the oil seal (39) can be exposed by removing the front wheel (2) from the wheel mounting part (33B) in the carrier (33). On the other hand, a brake mechanism (40) is disposed on the inner peripheral side of the reduction gear mounting part (18C). Therefore, the brake mechanism (40) can be exposed by removing the front wheel (2) from the wheel mounting part (33B) in the carrier (33) and the planetary gear reduction mechanism (28) from the reduction gear mounting part (18C).

Abstract: A brake assembly adapted to be mounted to the flange of an axle housing. The brake assembly includes a stationary plate having a plurality of threaded holes therein. The brake assembly also includes a mounting sleeve positioned adjacent to the axle housing flange opposite the stationary plate. A plurality of holes are provided through the mounting sleeve and are aligned with the threaded holes in the stationary plate. A bolt is received through each of the holes in the mounting sleeve and the aligned holes in the axle housing flange and the threaded holes in the stationary plate to secure the brake to the axle housing. The mounting sleeve may be provided in two or more separate pieces in order to facilitate installation.
