摘要: A systems, methods, and products for language learning software that automatically extracts text from corpora using various natural-language processing product features, which can be combined with custom-designed learning activities to offer a needs-based, adaptive learning methodology. The system may receive a text, extract keywords pedagogically valuable to non-native language learning, assign a difficulty score to the text using various linguistic attributes of the text, generate a list of potential distractors for each keyword in the text to implement in learning activities, and topically tag the text against a taxonomy based on the content. This output is then used in conjunction with a series of learning activity-types designed to meet learners' language skill needs and then used to create dynamic, adaptive activities for them.

摘要: A method for compiling and presenting training materials to employees, the method comprising, receiving, by one or more processors, a request to compile a training module, analyzing, by one or more processors, a set of parameters of the request, wherein the set of parameters pertain to subject matter, compiling, by one or more processors, a quantity of pre-existing training materials, parsing, by one or more processors, the quantity of pre-existing training materials associated with the request to determine if a first portion of the quantity of pre-existing training materials are related to the request, accessing, by one or more processors, a template for the request, wherein the template is based on a specific format of the training module, integrating, by one or more processors, the first portion of the quantity of pre-existing training materials into the template, and generating, by one or more processors, the training module.

摘要: The present invention allows a language learning platform to calculate a user's overall language skill. This may be performed as a standalone test or before, during and/or after a language course. The language learning platform may perform a Pre-CAT process, a CAT process, a stage 2—fixed form process and a scoring and reporting process. The Pre-CAT process is designed to quickly get an initial estimate of the user's overall language skill. The CAT processes improves on the accuracy of the Pre-CAT process, preferably until the conditional standard error of measurement for the user's overall language skill is less than a predetermined number. The stage 2—fixed form process may use the user's overall language skill to select speaking, listening and writing assessment items of an appropriate difficulty for the user. The language learning platform may score the responses of the user, present the measured user's overall language skill to the user and save the user's overall language skill in a database for use in future tests.

摘要: This disclosure describes a system that delivers content (e.g. multimedia video), and analyzes and aggregates feedback of a user viewing the content. The user may interact with the multimedia video in the form of answering questions which are dynamically placed between video segments. The system may determine the response type of the user for a given question. The system may handle both positive and negative responses (e.g. correct and incorrect responses to questions). The system may help the user navigate the segments of the video.

摘要: An electronic publication environment includes nodes containing items of educational content, and a plurality of paths through the nodes. Each path represents a different organization of the nodes in the electronic textbook. The paths are tailored to the educational needs of the users of the electronic textbook. As a user traverses the nodes of the electronic textbook, the user creates a personalized path. The user can add comments to the nodes and connections of this path. These paths and associated comments are made available to other users of the electronic textbook.

摘要: A method for generating a set of concepts related to a target concept includes accessing a set of candidate concepts, embedding the target concept and the set of candidate concepts in a semantic vector space, selecting one or more intermediate concepts from the set of candidate concepts in response to determining whether each embedded candidate concept in the set of embedded candidate concepts satisfies a predetermined relationship with the embedded target concept, and filtering the one or more intermediate concepts to yield the set of concepts related to the target concept. The method may further include generating a multiple-choice question in which the target concept corresponds to a correct answer choice and the set of concepts related to the target concept correspond to distractors.

摘要: The present invention is directed to interactive training, and in particular, to methods and systems for computerized interactive skill training. An example embodiment provides a method and system for providing skill training using a computerized system. The computerized system receives a selection of a first training subject. Several related training components can be invoked, such as reading, watching, performing, and/or reviewing components. In addition, a scored challenge session is provided, wherein a training challenge is provided to a user via a terminal, optionally in video form.

摘要: Systems and methods can track, at a group level, times for responding to educational questions. A set of users is identified as users enrolled in an academic course. A set of responses is accessed (e.g., after being received). Each response in the set of responses is one submitted via an electronic user device associated with a user in the set of users and is one submitted in response to one or more educational questions. For each response in the set of responses, an accuracy of the response is identified and a response time for the response is identified. The response time is indicative of a time between presentation of the one or more questions and submission the response. The identified response times for at least two responses in the set of responses are aggregated. A representation of the aggregation is caused to be presented.

摘要: Systems and methods can dynamically set user-specific schedules for prompting users to access educational content objects. An educational performance metric is identified for a user. A learning schedule is accessed that includes an identification of a plurality of learning episodes. Each of the plurality of learning episodes is associated with a time-related variable indicative of when the learning episode is to occur and a substance-related variable indicative of a learning substance for the learning episode. The learning schedule is adjusted based on the identified educational performance metric and associated with the user. A presentation time is identified based on a time-related variable in the learning schedule. An electronic content object associated with the presentation time is identified based on a substance-related variable the learning schedule. A notification with an offer to access the identified electronic content object is presented at the presentation time via a device of the user.
