摘要: An elastic material for use in an absorbent article is provided. The elastic material contains a crosslinked network formed from a linear block copolymer having a monoalkenyl aromatic midblock positioned between conjugated diene endblocks (e.g., butadiene-styrene-butadiene (“B-S-B”) triblock copolymer). Prior to crosslinking, such linear block copolymers have a relatively low viscosity and thus may be readily formed into a precursor elastic material (e.g., film, strands, web, etc.) that is subsequently crosslinked to achieve the desired elastic and mechanical properties. Crosslinking is typically achieved through the formation of free radicals (unpaired electrons) that link together to form a plurality of carbon-carbon covalent bonds at the conjugated diene endblocks.

摘要: The present invention relates to an improved disposable cleaning sheet for removing debris, especially hair from a non-smooth or rough surface, especially fibrous type surfaces such as carpeting or upholstery. The cleaning sheets comprise a fibrous substrate and a plurality of protrusions extending from strand elements embedded within fibrous substrate. The cleaning sheets use the protrusions to dislodge the debris from the surface being cleaned, and the fibrous substrate captures the dislodged debris without a backing for the protrusions interfering with the particle capture of the fibrous substrate. Further, the protrusions are firmly embedded within the fibrous substrate such that they cannot be dislodged from the substrate in use.

摘要: An adsorbent filter for removing caffeine from liquids. The filter is composed of a liquid permeable matrix of fibrous material having individual exposed surfaces; and a distribution of adsorbent clay minerals attached to individual exposed surfaces of the fibrous material by substantially non-transient bonding, so that passage of a liquid having a caffeine concentration ranging from about 20 to about 100 mg per 100 mL of liquid through the matrix for a contact time of less than about 2 minutes results in at least a 40 percent reduction in the caffeine concentration of the liquid. The matrix of fibrous material may be selected from woven fabrics, knit fabrics and nonwoven fabrics. The adsorbent clay minerals include, for example, sodium bentonite clays, calcium bentonite clays, acidified bentonite clays, and modified bentonite clays containing a flocculating agent. Generally speaking, the filter can be adapted to provide at least a 40 percent reduction in the caffeine concentration for about 1 cup to about 40 cups of a liquid.

摘要: Composite article, and method of producing same, comprising a heat-resistant woven fabric substrate having a continuous heat and wear-resistant coating thereon for handling hot glass articles and the like without marring same. The heat-resistant flexible composite material is formed from a tightly woven fabric such as thermoset polyaramid fibers with a continuous imperforate coating of organic-inorganic silicone resin containing a filler of heat-resistant particulate material therein adapted to withstand extensive repeated contact with newly-formed hot glass articles. As required, the flexible composite material may be used alone or as a facing for a rigid structural member formed of metal.

摘要: The present invention relates to an X-ray absorbing material that can be used in medicine as well as in the manufacture of special protective clothing, protective screens, housings, protective coatings and isolation materials. In a first embodiment, the material uses as a filler a poly-dispersed mixture, segregated by kneading and containing metallic particles having a size between 10−9 and 10−3 m, wherein the particles are bonded to the surface of a textile base. The density of the material is defined by the relation qN=(0.01–0.020) qP, where qN is filler. In a second embodiment, the invention uses as a filler the above mixture, although here the particles are surrounded by the volume of a matrix made of a compound that solidifies under atmospheric pressure. The total mass of the poly-dispersed and segregated mixture is defined by the relation M=(0.05–0.5)m, where M is the total mass of the X-ray absorbing poly-dispersed and segregated filler, while m is the equivalent mass of the filler material that is equal in protective properties to the mass M. In a third embodiment, the invention uses as a filler the above mixture with the particles bonded to an intermediate substrate consisting of a textile base and surrounded by the volume of a matrix.
