摘要: Systems and techniques can be used to extract solid material with an alcohol-based solvent. To subsequently recover the solvent after extraction, the solvent-wet solid material having undergone extraction can be desolventized. The solvent-wet solid material may be desolventized in multiple stages, either in a single vessel or in multiple different vessels, to generate multiple corresponding condensate streams containing alcohol and water vaporized from the solvent-wet solid material. By splitting desolventization into multiple stages, the composition of the condensate streams generated during desolventization can be individually controlled to benefit downstream processing. For example, the first condensate stream produced during desolventization may have a comparatively low amount of water whereas a second condensate stream produced during desolventization may have a comparatively high amount of water. The first condensate stream may be recycled back to the extractor without further water removal whereas the second condensate stream may undergo additional processing to remove water.

摘要: The present technology is directed towards providing an apparatus, system and method for the cost-effective extraction of compounds of interest, such as CBD and THC, from freshly harvested cannabis plant material. The system includes multiple processing modules, each having an agitator, tank and filter basket and is communicative with a separator. The tanks are filled with a cooling agent and the filter baskets provided with cannabis plant material which is immersed and agitated in each tank. The filtered outflow from each tank is a mixture of cooling agent and cannabis plant material that is transferred to a separator to extract the compounds of interest. The filtered outflow from each processing mod-ule is timed to provide a continuous flow rate to the separator.

摘要: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices for phytochemical extraction. One example extraction system includes two solvent columns, a material column, and a dewaxing column. The solvent columns store and provide solvent for stripping target chemicals from plant material in the material column. The solvent mixed with target chemicals passes into the dewaxing column, where the target chemicals are separated from waxes and lipids. Cooling is applied to elements of the system by way of an open-loop CO2 refrigeration method. Solvent is moved from the solvent columns to the material column by creating a pressure differential between the two solvent columns.

摘要: Processes are described for obtaining highly purified tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCa) from Cannabis. Solvent extraction is performed on plant material or extract, followed by removal of impurities using sequential liquid-liquid extractions to purify cannabinoid carboxylic acids therefrom based on chemical properties of carboxylate salts. The product liquor, comprising THCa in solvent, is largely free of impurities, and high in THCa. Further steps can be conducted to obtain a highly enriched solution using chromatography and subsequent crystallization of THCa in 99% purity. THCa can be used as starting material for other products that include THC by decarboxylation. Optionally, triglyceride extraction of a washed aqueous phase can be used to prepare a THCa composition without chromatographic purification. A pre-processing aqueous extraction with pH manipulations may be used to remove biomass prior to solvent extraction, while maintaining THCa and optionally other cannabinoid acids.
