Abstract:
A restoration for restoring a lesion in a tooth and method for making the same. The restoration comprises a layer of glass ionomer cement bonded to the lesion and a layer of amalgam disposed on the layer of glass ionomer cement. The restoration is formed by the process of applying a layer of wet glass ionomer cement on the lesion, placing a wet dental amalgam directly on the wet glass ionomer cement, and allowing the wet glass ionomer cement and the wet amalgam to harden to bond the amalgam to the tooth. Various modifications to the glass ionomer cement are disclosed to either improve the bond of the restoration's amalgam to the tooth or to enhance the cement's use in various dental procedures. Also disclosed are various dental procedures using the restoration and method of making the restoration which results in the resolution of certain shortcomings of current like procedures.
Abstract:
A dental or surgical adhesive filler containing (a) a polymerizable acrylic acid or methacrylic acid derivative, (b) a vinyl polymer powder, (c) an organic boron compound as a curing agent, and optionally, a polar organic compound and an inert diluent. The advantage of the above dental or surgical adhesive filler is that it is easy to handle due to stability in curing time and freedom of ignition.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an artificial tooth crown composed of a prefabricated coping designed for artificial strength densely sintered ceramic material with powder metallurgical methods. The tooth crown is given the final shape by a veneer material attached to the external surface of the coping by e.g., firing or dental porcelain. The tooth crown can be made in less manufacturing time with an increase in the strength and the accuracy to shape.
Abstract:
Resin-forming material suitable for medical or dental use comprising tetramethylolmethane tri- or tetracrylate or tetramethylolmethane tri- or tetramethacrylate; and implant material suitable for medical or dental use comprising nitride of at least one member of metal selected from the group consisting of Group IVB, Group VB and Group VIB in the periodic table of elements and boron, aluminum and silicon and having Mohs' scale of hardness of at least 7.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a powder-liquid type denture base liner comprising: a powder material including (A) uncrosslinked resin particles, (B) an organic peroxide, (C) a pyrimidine trione derivative, and (D) an organic metal compound; and a liquid material including (E) a radical polymerizable monomer and (F) an aromatic amine compound, wherein the powder-liquid denture base liner is characterized in that the (C) pyrimidine trione derivative is 0.0002-1.0 mass parts per 100 mass parts of (E) radical polymerizable monomer.
Abstract:
In order to provide a material for forming a dental prosthesis which does not require further heat treatment after machining and can improve cutting ability even after obtaining necessary strength, the material for a dental prosthesis comprises 60.0 mass % or more and 80.0 mass % or less of SiO2, 10.0 mass % or more and 20.0 mass % or less of Li2O, and 5.1 mass % or more and 10.0 mass % or less of Al2O3.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to polymeric composites comprising inorganic fillers and organic, or organometallic, polymers. The filler compositions are used in the preparation of inorganic-organic polymeric composites, and, in particular, light curable composites. The composite fillers are used in dental applications, such as tooth restorations, for example, cavity fillings, adhesive compositions, veneers, crowns, bridges and teeth replacements. The inventive composition is a composite filler comprising porous inorganic particles having a diameter of 2-25 microns and a polymer occupying the pores of the porous inorganic particles, wherein the composite filler has a diameter of 2-25 microns.
Abstract:
A part adapted for in vivo endosseous implantation made up of a material comprising a thermoplastic organic binder and a fiber charge. The fibers located in a surface layer of the part are mostly delaminated from the binder over all or part of their length. Also, a method for manufacturing such a part.
Abstract:
A method of smoothing teeth is disclosed, the utility of which is based on surprising empirical evidence achieved via practice of a method involving application of calcium thereto and maintaining it in contact therewith by application of a composition of matter that adheres to said teeth.
