    Abstract: A method for a target mobility management entity and a target mobility management entity for executing the method in a core network to communicate network function (NF) utilization information with a source mobility management entity during a change of mobility management entity are disclosed. The method comprises: receiving at least one old NF identifier (ID) from the source mobility management entity that corresponds to an old NF entity serving a user equipment (UE); determining to either use the at least one old NF ID or to use at least one new NF ID that corresponds to a new NF entity of a same NF type as the old NF entity; and communicating, to the source mobility management entity, information that indicates to the source mobility management entity whether the target mobility management entity uses the at least one old NF ID or uses the at least one new NF ID.

    Abstract: A method of operation of a SMF in a 5GC, for synchronizing the GBR QoS flows with the UE is provided. The method comprises initiating deactivation of one or more GBR/non-GBR (not associated to a default QoS Rule), QoS flows of a PDU session in the 5GC and in the UE and upon determining that a response to the deactivation is not received from the UE, deferring, by the SMF, the deactivation of the one or more GBR/non-GBR QoS flows with the UE and marking the GBR/Non-GBR QoS flows as to be synchronized when either UP reactivation is received or UE reachability notification is received or upon a synchronization timer set by the SMF has expired. The GBR/non-GBR QoS Flows may also be locally deactivated at the UE, in which case a method in the UE to synchronize the GBR/non-GBR QoS flows with the 5GC is provided.

    Abstract: The invention relates to mobility management nodes and methods of the mobility management nodes of enabling delivery of a Mobile Terminating, (MT) Short Message (SM) to a mobile terminal.
    In a first aspect of the invention, a method of a mobility management node is provided for enabling delivery of a Mobile Terminating, (MT) Short Message (SM) to a mobile terminal which currently is in extended idle mode discontinuous reception, eDRX, mode. The method comprises receiving an indication from a Short Message Service Gateway Mobile Switching Centre (SMS-GMSC) that the SM is to be delivered, receiving a notification that the mobile terminal has exited an extended idle Discontinuous Reception (eDRX) mode before a paging occasion has occurred, and submitting, in response to the notification, a message indicating to the SMS-GMSC that the mobile terminal is available for delivery of the SM.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method and access management entity for selecting a session management (SM) entity for serving a wireless communication device (WCD) in a core network that comprises an access management entity serving the WCD and an anchor SM entity that controls a first user plane entity that handles a data session associated with the WCD in a first domain, and a second SM entity for controlling a second user plane entity in a second domain of the core network. The method is performed by the access management entity and comprises selecting—based on WCD information and SM domain information—the second SM entity as an additional intermediate SM entity to control a user plane entity in the second domain for handling the data session in the second domain; requesting the second SM entity to act as the additional intermediate SM; and receiving a session response message.
