Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for radar-assisted beam failure. A second wireless device may transmit, to a first wireless device, a configuration to monitor for a potential obstruction for a set of one or more beams for the wireless communication with the second wireless. The first wireless device may receive, from the second wireless device, the configuration to monitor for the potential obstruction for the set of one or more beams for the wireless communication with the second wireless device. The first wireless device may perform radar detection for the potential obstruction to the set of one or more beams for the wireless communication with the second wireless device.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for establishing directional communications between two communication nodes via a configurable reflective surface. In some aspects, an assisting node (AN) may control a reflection characteristic (which may dictate or influence how signals reflect off of the configurable reflective surface) in accordance with parameters or configurations for directional communication between the two communication nodes. For example, the AN may use a first beam for directional communication with the first node and a second beam for directional communication with the second node, and the AN may control the reflection characteristic in accordance with an inferred incident direction of signaling at the configurable reflective surface and a desired reflected direction of the signaling from the configurable reflective surface that are associated with the first beam and the second beam, respectively.

Abstract: In an aspect, a user equipment (UE) may control one or more reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) in accordance with one or more RIS schedules that indicate times when the one or more RIS are in an enabled state and times when the one or more RIS are in a disabled state. The UE may request at least one participating UE of one or more participating UEs to transmit at least one positioning reference signal (PRS) in a PRS resource. The UE may measure the at least one PRS from the at least one participating UE in accordance with the RIS schedule to make one or more measurements of the at least one PRS when the one or more RIS are in the disabled state and to make one or more measurements of the at least one PRS when the one or more RIS are in the enabled state.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For instance, a first user equipment (UE) may identify a configuration for an assisting node (AN) that includes an indication of a set of time resources during which the AN is active and an indication of location information that indicates communication direction information corresponding to communications via the AN during the set of time resources. The first UE may select a time resource from the set of time resources based on the indication of location information, a location of the first UE, and information associated with a packet for transmission from the first UE to a second UE via the assisting node. The first UE may transmit the packet over the selected time resource.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A communication device (e.g., a vehicle) in wireless communications system (e.g., a cellular-vehicle-to-everything (V2X) system) may support adaptive radar transmissions based on information received in a public safety message. The communication device may use information included in the public safety message to adapt radar transmissions to enable timely detection of vulnerable road users (VRUs). In some examples, based on a location and a velocity estimate provided in the public safety message, the communication device may adjust the radar transmissions to experience a trade-off between range and velocity estimation performance. Additionally or alternatively, based on positional accuracy estimates provided in the public safety message, the communication device may adjust the radar transmissions to improve beamforming. By adapting the radar transmissions, the communication device may experience low latency and high reliability for VRU collision warnings in the C-V2X system.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for assisted mmW sidelink beam discovery in non-standalone mode. A UE may transmit, to an AN, a request to access one or more ADs. The request may be based on an absence of at least one BPL that has a threshold QoS for a DRB with a second UE. The UE may receive, from the AN based on the transmitted request, an authorization to access the one or more ADs, and exchange, via an SRB, beam training information with the second UE based on the authorization to access the one or more ADs for performing a beam training procedure via the one or more ADs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a first device may receive a feedback message from a second device that indicates a set of one or more sensing results associated with a sensing procedure performed by the second device. The first device may transmit, to the second device, a control message indicating resource information for a message for the second device. The control message may include an indication of a transmission configuration indication (TCI) state indicating a quasi-colocation (QCL) relationship between a reference signal associated with the message and a sensing result of the set of one or more sensing results indicated by the feedback message. The first device may transmit the message using a transmit beam and the second device may receive the message using a receive beam based on the TCI state and the QCL relationship.
