Embodiments may include triggering a pneumatic device to force the second end cap from the first end cap. Additionally, embodiments may include triggering a mechanical event to force the second end cap from the first end cap.

The BDU may also include a beam attenuator unit contained within the enclosure adjustably mounted within the enclosure for positioning within the beam delivery path. The BDU may have at least two enclosure isolation mechanisms comprising a first enclosure isolation mechanism on a first side of the enclosure from the at least one optic module and a second enclosure isolation mechanism on a second side of the enclosure from the at least one optic module, each respective enclosure isolation mechanism comprising a flapper valve having a metal to metal seating mechanism and a locking pin assembly. A precision offset ratchet driver operative to manipulate actuator mechanisms in difficult to reach locations may be provided. An external kinematic alignment tool may be provided. A method of contamination control for a BDU is disclosed comprising selection of allowable materials and fabrication processes.
Abstract:
An aboveground fueling facility includes one or more vertical fuel supply tanks, each of which is positioned on a reinforced mounting pad on a fueling island that also includes one or more fuel dispensers. Fuel is supplied from the vertical fuel supply tanks to the dispensers via piping that is secondarily contained within the reinforced mounting pad. Each of the vertical fuel supply tanks may have more than one compartment so as to permit different grades of fuel to be dispensed by the dispensers, including mixtures. Fueling lanes are defined between the vertical fuel supply tanks for permitting vehicular access to the fuel dispensers. A canopy for sheltering the fueling lanes is structurally supported by the vertical fuel supply tanks, and informational signage is provided on the canopy for providing information such as fuel pricing to the consumer.
Abstract:
An interface for coupling an eye to a surgical laser is disclosed. A lens cone includes a base ring opposite an apex ring. The base ring defines a first plane and is adapted to couple to the delivery tip of the laser such that the first plane has a predetermined position relative to the delivery tip. An applanation lens is affixed to the apex ring and has a surface disposed in a second plane such that the second plane is parallel to and has a predetermined position relative to the first plane. A gripper is engagable with the lens cone. An attachment ring is affixed to the gripper and is adapted to couple to the anterior surface of the eye. When the lens cone and gripper are engaged, the applanation lens contacts the anterior surface of the eye, placing the anterior surface in spatial registration with the delivery tip.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to synthetic antigen-presenting matrices, their methods of making and their methods of use. One such matrix is cells that have been transfected to produce MHC antigen-presenting molecules with one or more accessory molecules. The matrices are used to activate naive CD4+T cells as well as shift the ongoing activation state into a preferred differentiated population of either Th1 or Th2 cells.
Abstract:
The present invention presents a method for fabricating coil elements for magnetic write heads. A coil pattern is formed on a substrate using photolithographic techniques. The substrate is etched using reactive ion etching, creating a coil-shaped trench in the substrate. Thin film seed layers are deposited using ion beam deposition. The substrate is electroplated with metal filling the trenches with metal. The substrate is chemical mechanical polished to remove excess metal and planarize the air bearing surface of the write head.
Abstract:
An article is formed as a substrate having a projection extending outwardly therefrom. The article may be a magnetic recording head and the projection a write pole. The projection has a width in a thinnest dimension measured parallel to a substrate surface of no more than about 0.3 micrometers and a height measured perpendicular to the substrate of not less than about 5 times the width. The article is fabricated by forming an overlying structure on the substrate with an edge thereon, depositing a replication layer lying on the edge, depositing a filler onto the edge and the substrate, so that the filler, the replication layer, and the overlying structure in combination comprise a continuous layer on the substrate, selectively removing at least a portion of the replication layer from a free surface of the continuous layer inwardly toward the substrate, to form a defined cavity, and depositing a projection material into the defined cavity to form the projection.
