Abstract:
An analog-to-digital converter converts an analog signal into a digital signal by measuring a time period until a magnitude relation between a voltage level of a reference signal that changes along with time and a voltage level of the analog signal is inverted. The converter comprises a holding unit which holds, as a voltage level that is an analog value, an offset value of the analog-to-digital converter upon analog-to-digital converting a reference voltage level by the analog-to-digital converter, wherein the offset value of the analog-to-digital converter is corrected by changing the voltage level of the analog signal by the voltage level of the offset value held by the holding unit.
Abstract:
A duplexer module prevents a transmission signal and a reception signal in the same band from interfering with each other. The duplexer module includes a transmission line, a reception line, and an antenna common line. In addition, the duplexer module includes a plurality of mounting electrodes arranged along the four sides of an outer edge of a mounting surface of a multilayer substrate. The fourth mounting electrode defining a monitoring port is disposed on a side different from a side on which each of the first mounting electrode defining a transmission port, the second mounting electrode defining a reception port, and the third mounting electrode defining an antenna port is disposed. The fourth mounting electrode defining the monitoring port is a mounting electrode used to output a signal of the monitoring line through which a portion of electrical power is transmitted from the transmission line.
Abstract:
In continuous shooting processing, the defocus amounts of respective focus detection areas and the reliabilities of the defocus amounts are detected from information of the focus detection areas. Weightings are determined based on the reliabilities and defocus amounts. If the detection of defocus amounts is not completed in one shooting operation during continuous shooting, weightings are determined using defocus amounts detected in a shooting operation preceding the current one during continuous shooting. If there is no defocus amount that has been detected in a shooting operation preceding the current one, weightings are determined to weight a photometry area at a predetermined position of the field. A correct exposure for shooting is determined by calculating the weighted average of photometric values obtained in a plurality of photometry areas using the determined weightings. Continuous shooting can be performed with a correct exposure without decreasing the continuous shooting speed.
Abstract:
The time required to transcode an encoded image signal to an image signal encoded by a different encoding method is reduced.Disclosed herein is a transcoder comprising: picture selector 4 which extracts specific types of pictures (I- and P-pictures) from a first image signal (MPEG2 stream) and generates a subset of the first image signal; a first decoder 5 which decodes the subset image signal; and a first encoder 7 which encodes the decoded image signal to a second image signal (MPEG4 stream). The picture selector 4 uses the extracted pictures to generate the subset image signal with a reduced effective length.
Abstract:
A clock generation circuit comprises: a first generation unit; a second generation unit; and a control unit that, using a plurality of third delay elements that respectively have a propagation delay time that correlates with the propagation delay time of a first delay element, and correlates with the propagation delay time of a second delay element, generates a control signal for controlling the third delay elements such that a total of propagation delay times of the plurality of third delay elements corresponds to a target value depending on a cycle of the external clock, and controls the propagation delay time of the first delay element, the propagation delay time of the second delay element, and the propagation delay times of the third delay elements using the control signal.

Abstract:
Disclosed are an image recording/reproducing apparatus and a transmitting method which are user-friendly when transmitting image data recorded on a medium to an external device. Reproduction path information for transmitting image data edited by a user is recorded on the record medium. When transmitting, reproduction path information read from the recording medium is selected, the image data is reproduced according to the reproduction path information, and the reproduced data is transmitted to the external device. The reproduction path information includes transmitting event information such as the date and time of transmission, destination information, and information related to the signal format of the image data to be transmitted.

Abstract:
Most recorded data are necessary program data in the prior art. As the recording area of a recording medium such as a hard disk or an optical medium is increased, however, most recorded data become unnecessary data. Therefore, a demand of easily deleting such unnecessary data becomes stronger. To this end, there is provided a program deleting apparatus in which an unnecessary program extractor extracts specific program data or program data associated with program information and automatically deletes the specific program data and the extracted program data. The program deleting apparatus also can display a list of the extracted unnecessary program information on a monitor to prompt a user to specify unnecessary program or programs to be actually deleted on the basis of the displayed information.
Abstract:
A transcoding method and apparatus designed to reduce, with a high picture quality, the computation processing volume required for transcoding are provided. A recording and reproduction apparatus 100 includes an encoder 101, a transcoder 102, an intermediate information storage memory 105, a stream storage memory 106, a compression expansion means 107, an input image storage memory 108, and a user interface 110. When performing encoding in an encoder 104 with a second compressive encoding method, the intermediate information is read from the intermediate information storage memory 105, processed into a utilizable format, and utilized during encoding with the second compressive encoding method.
