摘要: A data processing device capable of indicating data being recorded or already recorded, at a location different from a user home without storing the data in a file format. When a terminal device issues a viewing request for a recorded program to an HDD in the user home, the program stored at a high bit rate is transmitted. Therefore, even if the terminal is a mobile, the program can be viewed on a display. Further, even during recording operation, an already recorded portion is transmitted so that the program can be viewed. Even during concurrent reproduction in which some one views the program during recording while the program is reproduced, the program can be transmitted for a mobile phone so that the program can be viewed at the mobile phone.

摘要: Most recorded data are necessary program data in the prior art. As the recording area of a recording medium such as a hard disk or an optical medium is increased, however, most recorded data become unnecessary data. Therefore, a demand of easily deleting such unnecessary data becomes stronger. To this end, there is provided a program deleting apparatus in which an unnecessary program extractor extracts specific program data or program data associated with program information and automatically deletes the specific program data and the extracted program data. The program deleting apparatus also can display a list of the extracted unnecessary program information on a monitor to prompt a user to specify unnecessary program or programs to be actually deleted on the basis of the displayed information.

摘要: An object of this invention is to provide a method which, when connection to any external apparatus is established, allows a coded video file to be supplied to the connected external apparatus in a format appropriate for the file format of the external apparatus, and with high video quality, and further achieves immediate responsiveness from connection to reproduction and display. The video-coding apparatus 1 is provided that includes: an apparatus registration block 13 which, when an external apparatus 2 is connected, acquires apparatus information 103 from the connected external apparatus 2 and automatically registers the external apparatus; a coding block 10 that encodes programs in a file format appropriate for at least one external apparatus 2 registered for the same program, and generates a coded video file 101; a storage block 11 which stores the coded video file 101 that has been generated; and an output file selector block 12 which, when the external apparatus 2 is connected, selects a coded-video file 102 of a file format appropriate for the particular external apparatus 2, from the coded video files of multiple formats that contain the same program stored within the storage block 11, and outputs the selected video file 102 to the external apparatus 2.

摘要: An image transmission device compresses and transmits image data to be sent and cannot correct errors occurring on the transmission path when image data to be transmitted is larger than a currently prescribed image size. In an image receiving device which receives compressed image data, data to be inputted is inputted by switching between first periods, during which the amount of data transmitted per prescribed time interval is a first data transmission amount, and second periods, during which the amount of data transmitted per prescribed time interval is less than the first data transmission amount. Compressed image data is inputted during the first periods, and error correction codes are inputted during the second periods, and a control unit expands the output of an error detection unit by means of an expansion unit and outputs the same.

摘要: The present invention provides an image decoder which decodes a stream encoded with standard resolution and transforms it into a high-definition image with a better image quality. An intra-field pixel interpolation module generates an interpolated pixel using pixels in a field. An inter-field pixel interpolation module generates an interpolated pixel using pixels from another field. A weighted averaging module refers to the prediction mode used in predictive encoding for the coded stream. If the prediction mode is a field prediction mode, it increases the mixture ratio of interpolated pixels generated by the intra-field pixel interpolation module, and if the prediction mode is a frame prediction mode, increases the mixture ratio of interpolated pixels generated by the inter-field pixel interpolation module.
