Abstract: Enhanced carrier aggregation may require development of mechanisms to enable carrier aggregation for an increased number of component carriers. In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a user equipment. The apparatus may receive, with an uplink grant, a request for channel state information. The apparatus determines the number of bits comprising the request. The determined number of bits may be based on or associated with the number of serving cells configured for the apparatus. The apparatus reports the channel state information in response to the request based on information in the determined number of bits.

Abstract: Various aspects described herein relate to communicating using dynamic uplink and downlink transmission time interval (TTI) switching in a wireless network. A notification can be received from a network entity of switching a configurable TTI from downlink communications to uplink communications. The configurable TTI can be one of a plurality of TTIs in a frame structure that allows dynamic switching of configurable TTIs between downlink and uplink communications within a frame. Additionally, uplink communications can be transmitted to the network entity during the configurable TTI based at least in part on the notification.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A transmitting device may send a signal including multiple transport blocks corresponding to multiple simultaneous hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) processes. Additional control information may be used to support the multiple simultaneous HARQ processes. For instance, the additional control information may indicate the number of available HARQ processes, an activity state for each HARQ process (e.g., active new data, active retransmission, or inactive), and the redundancy versions of each HARQ process. In some cases, the additional control information may be included in a downlink grant. A receiving device may respond with an acknowledgement or negative acknowledgment (ACK/NACK) for each of the transport blocks. The transmitting device may identify a retransmission status for each HARQ process based on the ACK/NACKs, and transmit new redundancy versions (or new data) to the receiving device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may establish a concurrent connection with different cells from two base stations. During a certain time period, the UE may be power limited for transmissions to the first base station but not for the second base station. In some cases, the UE may then transmit an SRS to the second base station and drop or reduce the power of an SRS transmission to the first base station. In other cases, the UE may determine that a first cell or a second cell is in a power limited state due to scheduled transmissions for the respective cells. In such cases, the UE may drop a scheduled transmission or scale transmission power of the first and second cells by a common value.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide procedures for managing secondary eNB (SeNB) radio link failure (S-RLF) in dual connectivity scenarios. A user equipment (UE) may establish communication with a Master Evolved Node B (MeNB) and a Secondary eNB (SeNB). The UE may detect a Radio Link Failure (RLF) of a connection with the SeNB and may transmit an indication of the RLF to the MeNB, in response to the detection. The MeNB may take at least one action to manage the RLF, in response to receiving the indication of the RLF, for example, including transmitting a reconfiguration command to the UE. The SeNB may also detect the RLF and transmit an indication of the RLF to the MeNB over a backhaul connection, in response to the detection.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. A base station may configure a set of timing adjustment groups (TAGs) and a set of PUCCH cell groups for a user equipment (UE). The serving cells in the TAGs may be associated with different PUCCH cell groups. The UE may initiate a time alignment timer for each TAG, and if the timer expires prior to receiving a timing adjustment command, the UE may initiate a timing alignment procedure for a subset of serving cells based on the association between the TAGs and the PUCCH cell groups.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for operating a user terminal in a satellite communication system during inter-beam handovers. In some aspects, the user terminal may determine an occurrence of an inter-beam handover for switching communication with a network controller of the satellite communication system from a first beam to a second beam. The user terminal measures a channel quality of the second beam based at least in part on the occurrence of the inter-beam handover, and sends the channel quality measurement to the controller via a reverse-link communication.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for aggregating carriers with different carrier configurations. The carriers may include both time division duplex (TDD) and frequency division duplex (FDD) carriers which may be configured such that control information for both carrier types is conveyed by the TDD carrier. In one aspect, an association between a set of subframes, including both TDD and FDD subframes, is determined. The association may operate to distribute control information for the FDD carrier over uplink subframes of the TDD carrier to achieve a load balancing. Alternatively, the association may operate to minimize a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback delay. The TDD carrier may provide resource grants for the aggregated carriers and the association may be used to identify subframes from both carriers which may be scheduled in a given DL subframe.

Abstract: Techniques are provided for carrier aggregation and H-ARQ timing in LTE or the like. For example, there is provided a method, operable by a mobile device, that may involve identifying a first component carrier and a second component carrier among a plurality of component carriers to be aggregated, wherein a first number of subframes of a subframe type in the first component carrier is less than a second number of subframes of the same subframe type in the second component carrier. The method may further involve receiving a configuration to monitor a control channel for the second component carrier on the first component carrier. The method further may further involve determining a reference uplink-downlink subframe configuration for the second component carrier based at least in part on the subframe type and the received configuration for the control channel.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to allocating transmission power in multiple connectivity wireless networks. A device can establish a first connection with a first primary cell in a first cell group as well as a second connection with a second primary cell in a second cell group. The device can determine whether to prioritize a first communication over the first connection or a second communication over the second connection, wherein the first communication and the second communication are scheduled for concurrent transmission. In addition, the device can transmit at least one of the first communication over the first connection or the second communication over the second connection in a transmission time interval based at least in part on determining whether to prioritize the first communication or the second communication.
