A wireless transmit receive unit (WTRU) may have multiple antenna panels which may be capable of different modes of operation, such as simultaneous DL/DL (S-DD), simultaneous UL/UL (S-UU) and simultaneous DL/UL (S-DU). Further, the WTRU may use each panel independently to communicate with multiple transmission and receive points simultaneously. The WTRU may accomplish this using transmission control indicators, reference signals, monitoring techniques suitable for multiple transmission and reception point communication.

Abstract: A communication device includes a level one (L1) processing element configured to measure downlink (DL) reference signals from multiple beams received via a transceiver to generate L1 data describing the multiple beams. The device also includes a level two (L2) processing element configured to consolidate, select, or filter the multiple beams responsive to the L1 data to produce L2 data corresponding to one or more of the multiple beams in a first cell that are consistent with preconfigured parameters. Furthermore, the device includes a level three (L3) processing element coupled to the L1 and L2 processing elements and configured to generate L3 data corresponding to one or more of the multiple beams in each of the first cell and a second cell. The device also includes a report generator coupled to the L1, L2 and L3 processing elements and configured to generate a report for a mobility event.

Abstract: The present disclosure is a novel utility of a software defined radio (SDR) based Distributed Antenna System (DAS) that is field reconfigurable and support multi-modulation schemes (modulation-independent), multi-carriers, multi-frequency bands and multi-channels. The present invention enables a high degree of flexibility to manage, control, enhance, facilitate the usage and performance of a distributed wireless network such as Flexible Simulcast, automatic traffic load-balancing, network and radio resource optimization, network calibration, autonomous/assisted commissioning, carrier pooling, automatic frequency selection, frequency carrier placement, traffic monitoring, traffic tagging, pilot beacon, etc. As a result, a DAS in accordance with the present invention can increase the efficiency and traffic capacity of the operators' wireless network.

Abstract: In a wireless communication system, there is disclosed a method for decoding a frame transmitted by a transmitter device is executed by a receiver device. The method includes the following steps:—selecting one or more gateway stations likely to have detected, on a communication channel, a corrupted frame corresponding to the frame to be decoded, the selection being carried out such that, in order to be selected, a gateway station does not have communicate beforehand, to the receiver device, any item of information relating to the possibly detected corrupted frame in order;—sending a request to each selected gateway station in order to request the selected gateway station to transmit the possibly detected corrupted frame; and—combining the corrupted frames transmitted by the various selected gateway stations in order to decode the frame.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for allocating and processing sequences in a communication system is disclosed. The method includes: dividing sequences in a sequence group into multiple sub-groups, each sub-group corresponding to its own mode of occupying time frequency resources; selecting sequences from a candidate sequence collection corresponding to each sub-group to form the sequences in the sub-group by: the sequences in a sub-group i in a sequence group k being composed of n sequences in the candidate sequence collection, the n sequences making a |ri/Ni−ck/Np1| or |(ri/Ni−ck/Np1) modu mk,i| function value the smallest, second smallest, till the nth smallest respectively; allocating the sequence group to cells, users or channels. It prevents the sequences highly correlated with the sequences of a specific length from appearing in other sequence groups, thus reducing interference, avoiding the trouble of storing the lists of massive sequence groups.
