摘要: Envelope tracking power supply circuitry includes a look up table (LUT) configured to provide a target supply voltage based on a power envelope measurement. The target supply voltage is dynamically adjusted based on a delay between the power envelope of an RF signal and a provided envelope tracking supply voltage. The envelope tracking supply voltage is generated from the adjusted target supply voltage in order to synchronize the envelope tracking supply voltage with the power envelope of the RF signal.

摘要: A transmitter circuit has a signal input for receiving an analog input signal and a local oscillator (LO) input for receiving an LO signal. A mixer circuit has a first input, a second input, and an output. The second input of the mixer circuit is connected to a signal input of the transmitter circuit. A PA circuit has an input connected to the output of the mixer circuit, and an output. A control circuit generates a phase-control signal and a gain-control signal in response to an envelope of the analog input signal. A phase-control circuit generates a phase-adjusted LO signal in response to the LO signal and the phase-control signal and supplies the phase-adjusted LO signal to the first input of the mixer circuit. A gain-control circuit controls a gain of the transmitter circuit in response to the gain-control signal.

摘要: Methods and devices for amplifying an input RF signal according to at least two gain-states is described. According to one aspect, a multi gain amplifier circuit including a low noise amplifier having a stack of transistors is used for amplification of the input RF signal. When switching from a low gain-state to a high gain-state, the drain-to-source voltage of the output transistor of the stack is increased to affect region of operation of the output transistor, and thereby reduce non-linearity at the output of the amplifier. When switching from the high gain-state to the low gain-state, the drain-to-source voltage of the input transistor of the stack is increased to affect region of operation of the input transistor, and thereby reduce non-linearity at the output of the amplifier.

摘要: A circuit includes: an RF amplifier including RF transistor(s); a DC power source electrically coupled to the RF amplifier; a bias control input that receives a bias control signal from a bias control circuit electrically coupled to the DC power source; and a thermal tracking circuit located at a distance from the RF transistor(s) such that RF interference between the RF transistor(s) and the thermal tracking circuit is below a threshold during circuit operation. The thermal tracking circuit includes heating element(s), a DC bias reference device, and a thermal tracking control circuit electrically coupled to the DC power source and the heating element(s). The thermal tracking control circuit generates a signal that controls a thermal behavior of the heating element(s). The heating element(s) heat the DC bias reference device when activated. The DC bias reference device is electrically coupled to the bias control input to modulate a bias voltage.

摘要: A method of operating an amplifier circuit having a transformer arranged so as to establish a magnetically coupled feedback loop between and output of an amplifier and an input of the amplifier. The method includes providing a DC bias current to the amplifier, and further includes increasing the DC bias current to improve a linearity of the amplifier circuit wherein a transfer gain of the amplifier circuit remains constant when the DC bias current is increased. A loop gain of the magnetically coupled feedback loop is set by selecting a coupling factor and turn-ratio of the transformer.

A control circuit is connected to control the variable resistors of the first set in a manner responsive to a TIA gain control voltage VGC. The control circuit includes a ramp generator and a reference set of variable-resistors connected in parallel. The ramp generator is configured to generate, responsive to an output voltage of the control circuit, a plurality of ramp voltages such that each of the voltages adjusts a corresponding one of the variable-resistors of the first set and of the reference set.

摘要: A resistive attenuator and a method for improving linearity of the resistive attenuator are provided. The resistive attenuator includes a first transistor, an attenuation circuit and a compensation circuit, wherein both the first transistor and the attenuation circuit are coupled between an input terminal and an output terminal of the resistive attenuator, and the compensation circuit is coupled to the first transistor. The first transistor is configured to provide a first signal path between the input terminal and the output terminal. The attenuation circuit is configured to provide a second signal path between the input terminal and the output terminal, wherein signal attenuation of the second signal path is greater than signal attenuation of the first signal path. The compensation circuit is configured to compensate nonlinear distortion caused by the first transistor.
