Selecting one of the tabs allows the user to navigate to one of the predetermined group of process graphics.
Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments relate to a method for energy benchmarking a process plant having at least one component, and for diagnosing the process plant thereof. The method includes adapting a process model for the process plant determining energy consumption of the process plant based on design conditions or current operating conditions or both and performing optimization for estimating the energy benchmark. Further, the method also includes calculating indices for gap analysis and diagnosing the gap between the current energy consumption of the process plant and the estimated energy benchmark.
Abstract:
A method and system are disclosed for localization in an industrial wireless sensor network by identifying a sensor node of a field device for localization, and determining the location information of the sensor node associated with the field device. The determined location information is stored in the field device, in one or more modules of the wireless network management component, and/or an operator portal. Operation can be indicated upon the joining of the field device into the network or during the commissioning of the industrial wireless sensor.
Abstract:
An exemplary method and apparatus for detecting islanding conditions of a distributed grid are disclosed, wherein transfer of power through a power electrical unit is controlled on the basis of a control reference. The apparatus includes a first stage and a second stage performing a respective portion of the method. The first stage injects a reactive component to the control reference, and, for at least one electrical quantity of the grid, determines a change in the quantity induced by the injected component, and determines, on the basis of the change in the electrical quantity, whether to move to the second stage of the method. The second stage, for at least one electrical quantity of the grid, determines a value of the electrical quantity, forms a positive feedback term using at the determined value adding a positive feedback term to the control reference, determines a change in an electrical quantity induced by the feedback term, and determines islanding condition on the basis of the change in the quantity induced by the feedback term.
Abstract:
A thermoelectric energy storage system includes an intercooler for intercooling a working fluid between two compression stages. The intercooling may be carried out by flashing a portion of the working fluid taken from the output of an expander in a flash intercooler and/or by heating a secondary thermal storage with a further heat exchanger.
Abstract:
Exemplary embodiments relate to a method and system for updating a model in a model predictive controller. The system executing a method that includes assessing the deviation of the operating performance level from the desired performance level of the process plant, and diagnosing the model predictive control for the model plant mismatch by updating the model in a model predictive controller. The step of diagnosing the model predictive controller includes determining the model prediction error in relation to model plant mismatch, quantifying the model plant mismatch, and updating the model in the model predictive controller.
Abstract:
The electro-optical voltage sensor has an electro-optically active medium and a distance medium between two electrodes, between which the voltage V to be measured is present. The media and the thicknesses d1, d2 of the media are chosen in such a way that the measured voltage signal has no temperature dependence. By way of example, the thicknesses d1, d2 are chosen in such a way that the influence of the temperature dependences of critical electro-optical coefficients and dielectric constants of the media on the voltage signal cancel one another out. The two media are advantageously arranged in the form of a rod, comprising an alternating arrangement of cylindrical elements of the two media, between the electrodes. BGO and fused silica may advantageously be used as media. The sensor is preferably cast in silicone. It is possible to realize a mechanically stable, temperature-stabilized voltage sensor with low reflection losses, a large half wave voltage and a small sensitivity toward disturbances of the electric field.
