Abstract: A micropump according to the invention uses axially oriented pistons to define a pump volume. Translating the pistons axially with respect to each other within a pump housing draws a metered amount of fluid into the pump volume from a reservoir port for delivery to a cannula port when the space is collapsed. Radially situated seals on the pistons cooperate with the axial movement to close off and open the cannula port and the reservoir port respectively at different positions of the piston stroke.

Abstract: Systems and methods for selecting a treatment regimen for a particular patient are provided. The treatment regimen is selected using a first data store including a first plurality of patient records for a first plurality of patients, and a second data store including efficacy rates of a plurality of treatment regimens against a plurality of infections and infection-causing pathogens. The system, or a user of the system, identifies a first infection of the particular patient and a first treatment regimen to be prescribed to treat the first infection. A second plurality of patient records is generated by identifying, in the first plurality of patient records of the first data store, patient records associated with diagnosis or treatment of the first infection. The second plurality of patient records are appended with efficacy rates for the first infection from the second data store. Systems and methods of the present disclosure can use these appended records to generate a dynamic model configured to determine a likelihood estimation that the first treatment regimen is an appropriate treatment regimen to treat the first infection.

Abstract: Flow cytometers having sample injection needles are provided. The subject flow cytometers include a flow cell for transporting particles in a core stream of a flow stream from a proximal end to a distal end, and a sample injection needle having a passage running therethrough for delivering sample fluid from a sample injection line at a proximal end to the flow cell at a distal end to generate the core stream. Flow cells of interest include a flow cell cone at the proximal end, and sample injection needles of interest are configured and positioned to maintain an intact core stream under flow conditions that vary by a magnitude or more. Methods of assembling the subject flow cytometers and methods of analyzing a sample using the subject flow cytometers are also provided.

Abstract: An integrated catheter system includes a catheter adapter, a needle-free connector including a first port, a second port positioned opposite the first port, and a side port positioned between the first port and the second port, intermediate tubing extending between the inlet of the catheter adapter and the first port of the needle-free connector, extension tubing extending from the side port of the needle-free connector, first indicia provided on a first portion or a second portion of the needle-free connector, and second indicia provided on the first portion or the second portion of the needle-free connector. The first indicia including a first color and the second indicia including at least one of a maximum pressure rating marking, a flow rate capability marking, and a catheter length marking.

Abstract: A reader includes a first antenna, a second antenna spaced apart from the first antenna, an RFID reader circuit, and a processor. The first antenna and the second antenna are connected to the RFID reader circuit. The first antenna is configured to receive a first signal from an RFID tag. The second antenna is configured to receive a second signal from the RFID tag. The processor controls the RFID reader circuit to determine a first value of a signal parameter associated with the RFID tag based on the first signal and a second value of the signal parameter associated with the RFID tag based on the second signal, receives, from the RFID reader circuit, the first value and the second value, and determines, based on the first value and the second value, whether the RFID tag is located between the first antenna and the second antenna.
